Hi i have a liquid cooling system for just on a year now, i am just wondering do i have to refill the liquid and if so when do i know this?

Thanks in advance Brian:cool:

I am of the opinion that if you're temps are the same as when you first put the system together, then this means that there has been no degradation due to build up around anything and therefore there is no real reason to have to strip everything down to clean or replace fluid. The other factor though is that if you are bothered about your fluid maintaining its supposed non conductive properties, if you use feser for example, then this has potentially has to be changed more frequently as over time it loses this property. Some say it actaully loses this property within weeks of first using it as contaminants and ions leach into the water. However, you will probably have noticed that over time the water level in the res has dropped, assuming you have no leaks then this is most likely to be due to evapouration through your tubes, so the only absolute thing you have to to water-wise is just make sure this doesn't drop such that it either makes your pump run dry, or the turbulence in the res starts to draw air into the loop as the level drops. Basically just top it up when it looks like it needs it.

Totally agree dont mess with what is working apart from making sure there is wnough water in there!

Might cause problems if you mess!

have a quick look under the hood and see if there is air in any of the pipes. the reservoir should have enough fluid to cover the inlet to the pump.

In addition to air, make sure there are no little animals/algae/etc. in there.

Asusming all of the good advice in the previous posts is taken, chances are it should be ok!

I use feser blue and I decided to change my res so took the whole thing apart. I found my transparent tubes had gone green and there was some algae in the res, but not as much as I thought there would be after 9 months. I just replaced the tubing and it now looks like new and I will put everything back in tonight.

If your temps are fine, I would see what the recommendation of the liquid you are using is, and go from there. Feser state "Regular water changes are advised (maximum 1 year)."
