Yes, but who cares? Good on him! They're free videos ffs! Its like saying the BBC make money by filming the world around them. Ebaums is a good thing because it contains all these funny things in one site, and if he had the balls to put a proper site together and people pay him for the adverts that go on it, then good on him I say! There really are far more important issues going on in the world

They are not free. They are copyrighted, and eric is stealing. He makes millions of $ a year (yes, millions) in advertising by stealing work from around the net without the authors' permission. Even after contacting him refusing him permission to use the work he does nothing. He is nothing but a thief.

Yes but he is making his money by ripping other people off!

Shouldn't OcUK ban eBaums links because they are links to files that break copyright laws? Like no warez talk. I'm not trying to get the OP into trouble, I just don't like what the site does

If we're going to do that, we'll get rid of half of everyone's sigs, your avatar, most of the pictures that are posted, any song lyrics, most videos that are posted... :)?

Again, just a load of babies crying because they didn't think of it first. In a practical society, if you upload a video for free viewing, again I stress in practical terms, you surrender your right to be recompensed in any way.

What a load of tosh. It still remains the author/artists property. Granted, if ebaumsworld acted more as a non-profit "museum" - a simple collection of work with no advertising and with the authors' permission - then it would be acceptable.

No, because these things are not breaking copyright laws, for example a video posted on google video would acknoledge who the author of the video is, if this author did not want the video on google video then they could have it removed

Neither is true for eBaums world videos,

So by your theory if I post some photos I have taken on these forums I am surrending my copyright on these images? Not true I still have a copyright on them and other people are not allowed to use them without my permission. I think you are getting confused with things being put in the public domain

I'm talking about the pratical status of things being put on the internet - not the legal status of the country of their creation or where they're hosted.

There are countless "classic" internet images that must have been shot by someone once - should they claim a royalty or request removal?

If I where to post a copyrighted image somewhere and was then asked by the owner to remove it I would do so, this is where the problem is, eBaums are keeping copyrighted things on there website without Acknoledging the author or removing it when requested.

I agree with what you say about M$ haters etc, because people seem to hate them for no reason

eBaums are different though because they have done something wrong

the practical thing is, he is taking OTHER peoples work and passing it off as his own, making money from it.

if you took a photo of a piccaso painting (good one) and made prints from it, then sold them online as your own work, as your own paintings, would you be in the wrong?
