Little Gpu Question.

Hello,

Been checking up on the 280x with the 7970. And been looking at the 770.

I game on 24' 1920x1080. 3570k.

Looking to play usually on high/ultra.

So my question is, Will an 280x be enough for the upcoming games at my resolution and graphical settings?

Having also checked out the 290x, but am unsure if I would need that level of card for the resolution I'll be using.

280x is a 7970 with a different cooler and slightly higher clocks and the 770 is nothing more then an overclocked 680

Now when it comes to gaming and overclocking the 7970 is faster then the 770 and as the 7970's are on offer ATM I say get one ordered NOW!!

I think it's a bit of a myth that such a card will be wasted on 1080p. There are quite a few games where a single 780 struggles at that res and that will only increase in the future. I would go for the best card you can afford, the 290x won't be wasted at 1080p

The HD 7970 version of the Matrix is a bit quicker and cheaper.
