Hi guys, Got a little problem with my CPU.

Basically when i use CPU-Z/Core Temp/Speccy. My CPU temp is in the 50-60c mark.

When i use the ASUS AI Suite i get CPU Reading of 29c

So i'm stuck with a problem of not knowing if my CPU is overheating or not, Any suggestions?

AI Suite reads Tcase afaik. Kind of nice to know, as you can see the differential between inside and outside. But not the temp you should be looking at for your OC - Real / Core Temp show the nitty-gritty, watch them.

If your 50-60c is at load then it's fine, if idle then you are running to hot

That is on idle, I have tried re seating the Heatsink about 6 time and it's a cooler master one so it's decent and i bought it as the stock was running the same temp but this has made no difference. Not sure what to do as it isn't effecting me at the moment but just wanted to know if there was anything i could do

This is my motherboard

Asus P5QL Pro P43 Chipset LGA775 FSB1600 DDR2/1066/800 Main board

This CPU isn't overclocked, I want to overclock it but want to work out how hot it is running first

id try clear cmos .... overclock cpu by 10mhz more just so it off stock check your temps then might correct itself

also in ai suite turn ur fan to performance ...that helps a lot for me and my p5b deluxe

Thanks mate really appreciate this, Do i just unplug it then plug it back in? this won't affect anything will it will just boot straight back up right?

it will reset bios you move the the blue cap that sits on 2 of 3 small pins you move it to the next 2 pins > power up > it wont boot (dont panic) move it back and you have cleared cmos .

then you go into bios and set your hdd to first boot
then save it will restart and load up then you check your temps again. (fingers crossed) your back to normal and can then try to overclock
