little mod i did today

on brand new cars fitted with them, by law, you need self leveling and headlamp wash

on older cars retro fitted (like mine) its just a recommendation although i am going to retro fit headlamp wash at some point

but chavs fitting HID kits into reflector lenses want heavily fining tbh, i was badly dazzled the other night by a fiesta with them in

do you not need automatic self-levelling for xenon lights?

"need" is a very difficult word to pin down on this one.

New cars have to have them, but theres no rules or laws regarding aftermarket fitment. Hence the large trend to fit horribe 9300k blue ones in reflector headlights that blind everybody and look crap

but this is an OEM xenon headlight with oem xenon bulbs. looks exactly the same as the real deal, only without the washers.

it may even have the auto levelling built into the light assembly. im not sure.

nah theres supposed to be 2 leveling sensors on the car one front and one rear (obviously i dont have these) but i have rewiried mine to work through the switch in the car, when my boot is full i just tilt them down a bit

I can 100% gurantee that if you hadn't purchased the OEM HID's, and went for a £40 kit off eBay, you'd say the complete opposite :)

Nice look though, i personally wouldn't tint the windows, i'd now be looking at ST220 or Zetec-S Body Parts and Interior parts, and then wonder how much more money i'd be wanting to invest in something thats more than likely going to be replaced in the next couple of years.

leather interior in now

Speak to the garage where it was serviced. I had a Mondeo a few years ago & lost the service book, was all recorded at the dealers & they gave me a copy for a nominal cost.

Danny, how do you get the leather interior fitted and what's the cost/where would I get it from etc.?

i got it off ebay for £300 and fit it myself

you've got to make sure the leather you buy is for your car ie (hatch, saloon, estate)

youve then got to take 1 wire from the fusebox to dash, then 2 wires from dash to a blue plug near the steering wheel, everything else is wired from there. if your car is a facelift its a lot harder and more expensive

ok, btw it looks really nice, you've done a good job there. My car is just the pre face lift LX so that's good news in case I ever think about doing that job.

I'm pondering over some Focus ST style alloys on ebay at the moment. Do you think these will look ok... I've been trying to find pictures of mk3 mondeos with them and although there are a few peeps on the mondy enthusiast forums with these alloys for their mk3 I havent been able to see a pic yet.

Linky
