Little Tom goes off on one.

That's just how it goes in a number of industries, *especially* when the person blowing a gasket at you is the one whose name will be dragged through the media and be held personally responsible all across the Twitterverse for your **** up. It won't be a Hollywood film that gets an outbreak in the headlines, it'd be 'COVID SPREAD BY TOM CRUISE FILM' or similar.

Can you imagine if this was Marco Pierre White's kitchen, or one of Gordon Ramsay's places? The f-bomb would be the least of your worries.

Some industries you'd expect it in, ramsay and white are renowned for it and the building trade is also. Seems to be a bit of a 180 for cruise though as i don't recall him ever being like that behind the scenes. Possible he has and it's never been recorded before i suppose.

Imagine how much better off we would be right now if we all took Toms attitude. You can bet he made personal assurances to film in many locations and insurance and studio execs to have film finished by X date, hes producer so will have his own money in it. By the phrasing he is using hes already told them so many times about it, this could be on the set for one of the huge stunt pieces him and a team have been working on for a couple of years for the movie and a small amount risk screwing all that up. When he broke his ankle and the crew had to stop filming, he helped a lot of the people find other work on other sets, if a crew cant film they dont get paid, and for MI films hes worked with the same crew for many year so would likely know many of them well and theirs families etc, he might jsut have a good idea why all those poeple there need to get a pay check.

Producers don't always put their own money in it, more often than not they get it from elsewhere.
Hes an investor/ owner of the Production house that makes the MI films. Its what allows him to own the rights and allow him to make all those set dangerous stunts.

Did he get ownership of that after he was dismissed from that other company at the height of scientology being in the news? Can't recall if it was WB or not.

You eman Paramount after his contract ran out and he setup his own studio and South Park relaxed thier scientology spisode? He wasn't Dismissed lol, he was able to get the film right after MI 3 I think and not be held to publishing contracts. They wanted x sequels by so many years. He said no as he wanted to take longer between filming, I assume for the crazy stunt stuff.

Eh lot of pressure on him as lead actor and producer

imagine the hoops to jump through to get the go-ahead during covid lockdowns etc

doesn't fire them though does he? just a loud warning :D

Lots of people in the creative arts are totally F'd right now - sounds like he is trying to make sure these ones dont

When I heard it this morning on GMB I couldn't blame him, we have no idea what led to it over x amount of time for him to finally get his point over.
I was asked this morning to go and work in a Covid Hotspot because 60% of their staff have caught Covid, if their Manager had spoke like Tom perhaps they wouldn't have.
I refused to go.

good for Tom. Everyone whining about him and mocking his height because they've got no other response sound exactly like the dumb ****s he's talking to who think they're above the rules. "quiet little words" don't word w/ idiots like this.

So instead of holding a meeting about it, it's better to blow a gasket dropping f bombs left and right? Very professional.

The problem is, I can say from experience that trying to be nice about it all doesn't work - people will continue to carry on doing what they want until someone becomes aggressive about it.

I'm conflicted on this one. My initial thought was that he must have had a strong reason to act like that and in the current environment he's trying to keep people safe and keep the industry going. But after thinking about it for a day I realised that if my manager ever talked to me that way I'd cut the rant short, demand an apology and leave the company if it was not forthcoming. It's bullying and that is not acceptable nowadays. The message could be got across without the aggression.

I'm way smaller than him, think how I go on :) www.dmpoole.co.uk/pics/tom&dave.jpg

I thought about it for a day and came to the conclusion what must have happened over time to get him to that point.
