They should get rid of the box and just package it all in a giant Sackboy.
 
Sony thinks that this game will be its biggest in all regions,
Speaking to VG247, Sony worldwide studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has predicted that Media Molecule blue-sky platformer LittleBigPlanet will be the biggest PS3 game this year on a global level.

“LittleBigPlanet is going to be the biggest title for Sony in all markets this year,” he said.

Yep. That includes Japan.

“History tells us how difficult it is for games developed in Europe or in the US to be successful in Japan, and with this generation we see Japanese consumer supporting more and more games coming from western Europe,” Yoshida added.

Not only will the game be the biggest PlayStation 3 game this year, said the exec, but it will show the way forward for games in general.

“It’s massively important, because it has so many things that it’s doing right in our minds,” he told us.

“That really shows the way the whole industry will be heading. Giving power to the consumers to express their creativity by creating something that’s fun for others to play. So we really want to make it a global success, including the Japanese market.”

Black and white. The biggest PS3 game this year, or your money back. Sony’s already said it expects Sackboy to become the new mascot for PS3, and now you know why: the farm’s been bet.

On anonther note, and a pretty huge one i think, is that LBP is to have official Disney DLC, It was confirmed at PAX earlier. Think this could be a big thing with the power of Disney marketing, perhaps a Sackboy movie/cartoon and official Sony/disney Sackboys im sure it would be a huge success for both companies.

Also, I'm skeptical whether LBP will sell that well - Not that many people know about it other than those who read forums and game sites frequently.
And many passer-bys will glance over it because it's cartoony.

we have yet to see any real marketing for this game. I expect once they start , and start they will and hard , that a lot of people will be extremely interested. I can kind of see how this could possibly be sonys answer to the casual market. Imagine all the girls/girlfriends and wifes who might see a tv ad and say i want it, get it for me!

I can personally see this game selling quite a lot and helping shift a lot of ps3. This game was a huge reason why i got mine. After showing it to my gf shes excited about it as well. The only game shes ever enjoyed is wii fit!
 
I think Cheets is referring to his comments being more about the PS3 box design. Rather than LBP specific.

Spiderman font up the left side of the box, Playstation Network top right and whatever they decided to do on the top left hand side with 2 fonts in 1 sentence lol.

I agree with him btw :p

Took me a couple of secs to "get it" :D

Just having a laugh cheets64, don't think anyone was really annoyed :) Just seemed like a weird comment, how often do you hear anyone mention box art etc (in a positive or negative context?)
