Am I right in thinking that in the level creator you can scale horizontally and vertically by any amount big or small, but depth wise you only have 4 "steps"?

PS. Played your rocket car level last night rp2000, very frustrating on the windmills part!

As far as i can tell (from watching EVERY video on the internet) you only have 4 options, flat (back), then 1, 2, and 3 thickness, which isn't great tbh, but it should be enough to make most things :)

Thanks. I guess if they make the official levels using the level creator then you just have to use creative thinking. I was struggling last night trying to make a little car with wheels and suspension and a rocket on the back - it ended up smashing itself to pieces when it hit a wall.

I should probably do all the tutorials first. :D

lol, yea i guess if they can do, we can do it too :)

better luck with your next car! ;)

Does anyone know roughly what time GamePro will start sending out emails about yesterdays competition codes?

Getting nervous now! :p

I'd guess roughly about 6 pm, because it started at 10am PDT, so my guess is it'll end at 10am PDT (6pm GMT) :(

Not sure when the gametrailers newsletter is gonna get sent out either!

I'll keep you all posted as to when I receive mine, I'm hitting F5 every 5 minutes or so, lol :p

cheers

Apparently people have been receiving keys from the official US site (http://littlebigplanet.us.playstation.com) - the one where you had to post within the first 1000 comments, which I definitely did - yet I haven't received anything. I've checked spam email, etc to no avail.

Not massively bummed because I'm already on the beta but was trying to score keys for other people.

EDIT: I wonder if they cross-checked my account to see whether I had already claimed it?

That's a bugger! hopefully it'll turn up, and you can start spreading the joy ;):D

I doubt it's gonna turn up to be honest as I've read in several places that people have received codes from there, and I've double checked my email and I haven't got anything.

I can only guess that since you had to log into your PSN account on the official site that they cross-referenced the accounts against who had already claimed it and voided any entries based on that. Although having said that I claimed my other beta key using a US-based Master Account with a different email address.

Strange, you'd of thought that if you used a different account and email address you'd be okay

oh well, i have my finger's crossed for everyone (including myself of course ;))

True, though I have played the game on my regular PSN account which is the same PSN account I posted the comment from. I can't really complain because a) I'm already in the beta and b) I wasn't eligible to begin with (not in North America/Canada), but I did follow the instructions and posted a comment under the 1000 limit :)

Just got to use the physics/momentum to help you. When you are at the lowest bit of the windmill be holding left on the stick (assuming windmill goes ant-clockwise). As it circles so you start to reach the peak of it turn the stick in a anti clockwise direction and he will sort of swing around the bit he is holding on and do a massive jump. In 2player mode it is easier cos you hang on to other sackboys, but I made it so that if you hang onto someone the person hanging on will hit the spikes/gas :)

"If you really need comparisons, the game is like Line Rider meets Garry's Mod meets Super Mario Bros. meets an orgasm."

Dude, when I told you it was like Line Rider the other day, you said "What's that?" !!!

Sorry, still dont know the whole point - looks very very nice though...

Im not a console person so a lot of these games just pass me by - I guess you just make a level submit it online and then allow others to play it?

Is there anything more? Not being dismissive just trying to work out the 'hype' and the aim - I guess its probably because its a closed beta and others just want in...

P.S. I guess its out soon - are they still putting people into the beta?

ps3ud0

Well, you've pretty much nailed it. If you're not interested in collaborative gameplay and making stuff that other people can enjoy then you'll get little enjoyment out of it. I'm sortof in the middle camp on the game - it's a lot of fun but I could live without it.

That said knowing the way gaming & the Internet is headed these days I can see it becoming very, very successful, "Line Rider meets Garry's Mod meets Super Mario Bros. meets an orgasm" is actually a perfect analogy. I can't really fathom the popularity of The Sims yet it's one of the biggest selling PC games of all time. On a similar note you get the vibe when you're playing LBP that even if you aren't fully immersed yourself that it's going to be revolutionary, some of the level designs I've seen in videos have been staggering, and even the simplest levels can be a ton of fun.

The hype around the beta is - as you suggest - largely due to the fact that it's limited. If there was no beta test then most of the people saying they would sell their first born into slavery for a key would just survive (somehow) until the end of the month when it's released, just like practically every other hyped game that has come out.
