I imagine it's the same as the metal gear online beta - the actual client is sound, but they're stress testing the servers to see how well they'll deal with launch day.
 
I'm tempted to enter the eurogamer competition. I've got a good idea but completely lack any form of art skills and a scanner. I suppose i could draw it in paint but... well yeah that would suck.

So what do I have to do to get a chance to play this beta then - do I have to add sackboy to my friends on facebook or something? If so then which one as there seems to be bleeding loads of em!!!

How do I join the beta?

Unless you are specifically invited you can only join the beta trial of the game by signing up through various games websites. The full list of sites will be provided shortly.



What if I don't get a key, I really want to play!?

This beta is being released in order to test element of the online game. As such it should not be seen as a demo, a trial or anything more than helping us to ensure that the server architecture is running. If you don't get a key you are missing out on a version of the game which is extremely limited and not fully representative of the final Blu-ray release of the game.



I saw a key for sale, should I buy it?

Absolutely not. Any key which has been used already will be disabled as soon as it is used a second time. While some people may be selling unused keys it is firstly not worth the risk and secondly in violation of the EULA.



If I ask for a key can you give me one?

Please don't ask for keys here, it won't do you any good. Similarly don't ask for keys on the forum as a whole, it won't help your chances, and just makes the place look untidy.

It may be an idea to have IGn, Kotaku, Gamespot, Giant Bomb, Game trailers websites all up just in case. Also make sure you are are a reg'ed User, may also be an idea to have a US account.
 
Have to register outside google translator heres a bit of help
The rough translation of that page is pretty self-explanatory. First answer is Media Molecule, second answer is the first option, and the last answer is the third option.

You have to register at the site with Swedish info:

Förnamn = first name
Efternamn = last name
Adress = duh
Postnummer = postal code
Ort = uhm, write Hägersten
Epost = guess 3 times
Telefon = duh x2

sorry but this game is simply my all time favourite ever over many years of gaming, nothing comes close for fun and entertainment. Think it could become my ultimate very shortly, Sony need to make Sackboy their Mascot

It worked for me, not sure if i got a code yet as i got a good luck message, dont use google translate, seems to work if i get a code then ill see. Also check you mails SCEE are sending beta codes to PSN IDs, the notice from the Us PS boards has been updated and the LBP site will list the sites on thursday.
