Living Forever??

Not forever but maybe just a few more hundred years so I can see what the world has become.

I’d love to see what the world will look like in 5000 years, see how far technology has advanced.

It all depends where I sit in the food chain.

If I am rich and powerful and much of the world problems I can solve with money. Sure.

Otherwise a couple of decades of youth is much more preferable. Also, it also depends at which age I stop being old at!

If I had money to actually do things then yeah sure but I'd want to be able to "end it" eventually as an option. No point living for a long time if you are in poverty.

Would be interesting to see what happens (if WW3 hasn't hit) in the next 100+ years.

I want to live forever. If they don't come out with a cure for ageing I'll upload myself to the cloud using neuralink and live as an ai forever. Maybe with a robot body.

You are underestimating how long forever is. That was the argument in the Derren Brown book.

You will literally be alive long enough to live out every version of yourself in its fullest. The worlds best Piano player? Why not? The worlds best rugby player? Why not?

You have literally unlimited time and can fulfil every single possible version of yourself. The fact you can and eventually will do and achieve everything is why living forever makes living an absolute misery.

I'm very grateful that my participation in this dumpster fire of a species is time limited. I can barely tolerate the self serving, arrogant, ignorant holier than thou pricks I share this planet with as it is, and you want me to stay indefinitely? What have I ever done to you

Yes but you will evolve infinity and the universe is infinite so you ain't getting bored.

Same here, would be nice to be around when\if space travel has reached a Star Trek level of tech if thats at all possible.

Of course in 5000 years time a baldness cure will still likely be 10 years away as it has been for decades. :p

1 person can't evolve. Also, you seem to be assuming that you'd be able to travel all through the universe at some point (because otherwise you'd eventually get fried by the sun), which is far from a given.

Read Happy by Derren Brown.

Without death life has absolutely no purpose.

Nonsense, at some point it may happen but knowing you have the time to learn everything and they everything you turned over during attempt to learn everything is enough for a good 200 years . Then throw in all the sports you want to do and the relax time 500 years is a nice round figure before you may get bored.

I'd like to live long enough to see the end of humanity, and the dinosaurs rule the earth once more.

lol, so nonesense but you then you agree with 59 further words?

I think when you're young the world seems big and random. But as you grow older you see its not that random at all.

I remember when I started going to nightclubs, one in particular. Everything seemed fresh and new each week. Then gradually I noticed familiar faces and saw it was mainly the same people going to the same night club on the same night every week.

Imagine that for infinity.

I used to think of that watching Highlander in the early/mid 90s and thinking... Imagine if you could live forever. Seeing the same faces for a period of time then they all phase out as their time has come. Seeing a new generation over and over every 80 years.

It must be mentally soul destroying seeing a generation die out every 80 - 90 years from people you once knew and grew attached to.
