I suppose if you live in the right area and go out looking often enough you would find plenty of 'fresh' stuff? Can't be too bad if he's still alive!

Would you do it?

Rat stir fries and owl curries hardly sound like the stuff you would serve your friends for dinner.
But surprisingly, Jonathan McGowan's exotic roadkill dishes are a big hit with his guests.
The 44-year-old bachelor has lived on a diet of roadkill for the past 30 years to avoid buying meat from the supermarket.

Yes daily mail :p

Sounds very exotic and I’d try the dishes but I would rather have my meat prepared by the butcher.

Never. In. A. Million. Years.

I mean come on..really??

in one of the pictures it says he is slicing open a pigeon, its not, it is a tasty pheasant. Love pheasant! Pheasant is one animal I have eaten from road kill, we actually hit it with the car by accident and it wings were broken, so we snapped its neck, hang it up for a few days and plucked the feathers. Tasty!

If I had just knocked pheasant and either killed it or injured it, aslong as it was in good condition and not flatted or mangled I would take it yes. But would check it over before I took it home.

Whats the difference between that and being pelted with loads of shotgun bb's.

If its clearly been there for a while or not hit by myself, no

Wood pigeon is delicious, used to decoy and shoot hundreds of them over some crops in the summer months

Yummy meat

The thing that puts me off about roadkill is not knowing what it's been eating. City animals have probably been living on ****. Most country-side animals are probably quite tasty though.

they are hard to miss as well .. seem to have a death wish on the roads

Depends. Plenty of road kill is fine.
Someone at work use to eat lots of trainkill and why not. If you know what to look for you can tell freshness.

If you saw someone hit a deer, would you not start hacking at it, if you had a knife.

Well that's a surprise :p

Does sound interesting though, I think I'd try just about anything.

So if the bloke (me Mate) in front runs the Dude over by accident I can pick him up & eat him.
I think I've just solved our unemployment problem.
