Living with a tattoo

See with a space invader everyone knows what it means. If they don't then they obviously have no taste :)

But does it mean something to you? Rather then 'hey look, that guy has a space invader on his arm?'

EDIT: Awesome Scuzi, truely great.

If there was a 'symbol' i could work with i was, like you have the Cleaver. :)

I don't get this whole 'mean something to you' thing. It's really not necessary.

I've got four tattoos, one's just pretty pictures (the stars), one is a traditional backpiece - just a pretty picture again, with a scroll on it saying 'good luck', because.. well we all need a bit of luck, and two are quotes which aren't exactly deep, they're just nice mottoes which I like and try to follow.

Two of them 'mean something' but are hardly deep, and two of them are just pretty pictures.

It's just art/fashion, of course it can be more but it's by no means necessary.

Couldn't agree more. You don't need a reason or a deeper meaning to get a tattoo. A lot of people get tattoos as a fashion accessory above all else and that's fine, each to their own! I would have a lot more tattoos if I was a little less restrained, I just don't want to take the risk of getting something and then having it go out of fashion or even end up disliking it myself.

Like I said, it's a very personal thing. If you want one, get one and get whatever design you like. Just be totally sure you like the design though. I've found myself looking at a design and saying "Wow, I want that on my arm!" only to dislike it a week later.

Good luck with whichever design you go with :)

To be honest any tattoo gained over the next few years would mean a lot to me. I'm loving every second of uni and it's possibly the best thing I ever decided to do.

Everytime I look at it I would be reminded of how great this point in my life has been plus the pure iconic/entertainment value of such a logo reflects my outlook on life.

A few weeks ago I pulled an all nighter after going out to Cardiff. We ended up treking up a hill to sit on the cliffside and watch the sun rise over the Welsh vallies. I had never felt so content.

That's the reason I get my tattoos. I can't think of a better reason to get one.

Just imagine having a picture of the welsh vallies on your back. No one would ever mess with you after that.

It's the big country, makes you look big!

Take care, and hope to see a pic of the chosen one soon :)

a few years ago, when i was in my "metal phase" i was going to get the slipknot tribal 'S' done on my shoulder.

looking back i'm so glad that i didnt, cos i know i would regret it loads now that im no longer that person i was back then.

if you have your heart set on it go for it, but if you are unsure its probably not worth it.

I sound like a real muppet but i would like 'Reilly' in old english on my forearm,

Sorry...That just made me giggle - Old English for a non-English name. :)

Taken just after it was done - excuse the redness and swelling.

I got my tattoo because it just jumped out at me. I had it customised with some shading to make it pretty individual. Its a bird on my shoulders, watching over me. It may sound stupid but I don't care. It also reminds me of my uni days, some very happy and also some very sad memories.

As has been said, as long as you are happy with it and it means something then screw what other people think.

Edit: And no I'm not a Nazi!

I got mine about 7 years ago. It's on the base of my spine. The only trouble I've ever had is it attracts strange men who want to touch it!

Well I've been thinking about getting a space invader for a while now. If not, then something along the same lines. I want it to be original and make people smile when they see it.

Ive always liked the idea of retro gaming tattoos, a friend of mine had king koopa on his shin, that was many many years ago tho!
I like the idea of a space invader or something equally retro :D
