hi all,

I'm sure that many of you are familiar with an article (http://www.anandtech.com/show/2404/6) that describes voltage spikes when using LLC (load line calibration), I was wondering whether you guys are using it on your everyday overclocks?

The way I understand it is that the voltage spikes can not be higher than your Vdroop at a similar voltage with no LLC so as long as this remains at a safe voltage then you should be fine. i.e. if you did not have LLC on you would have to run a voltage that would be higher than the highest spike to achieve the same stability (this is of course assuming that the stable voltage is the same for both LLC on and off which apparently it is not).

what worries me about running LLC is the negative spikes that could cause instability, and I think these are partly responsible for the differance in stable voltages mentioned earlier. what do you think?

I run LLC off for this reason and the others pointed out in that article (power and such).

Ive used LLC on 3 asus boards for 4 years in total, it just works and does no harm. If you want to avoid using it, just set a higher vcore than what you would use with it enabled.
