Llooll Aammaazzoonn!

Which is quite sad, as people are just blatantly ignoring that part. You'd think people actually WANTED it to be solely about colour.

Dude the stereotype was just about dead pointing it out to people is just perpetuating it without the warning it would be less likely to be construed in such a way now that it has been pointed out they've just made those who were unaware of the stereotype aware of it and thus it's now more likely to be used in a racist fasion face it without the warning it would've faded further into obscurity and therefore would not be used in such a way.

Well then, let's get back to the matter at hand.

I don't think that any kind of warning should be incurred because Mammy two shoes is a black woman. It's a little bit PC mad let's be honest. It was made in a different time. Context is important. I'm glad that most of us are in agreement. :)

As a kid, the only thing I loved and remember was them chasing each other around.

What's all this rubbish about a black slave worker lol!!

Rubbish, my kids will be watching it.

I'm guessing history will be ripped apart now, scrutinised, dissected and condemned. This all reminds me of people with too much time on their hands and not enough to do.

You know what it is, it's not the UK.

It's America, where they have a suing culture.

…and Britain just follows on with every other countries traits.

So does the UK?

Exactly.

jezz.. they've made something an issue making making it so.. Some people are just bored..

Heh!

To be fair now I know she was a slave it has ruined my childhood :(.

This better be sarcasm because the goalposts keep shifting on what they see fit. It's a cartoon. What is this? How did some people, or so many become so delicate… The amount of black friends I grew up with through church and different neighbourhoods and new ones I've known for the last decade take less offence to these issues than white people.

They're hardier than most white people and certainly have a different positive outlook with so many things in life. We've laughed at how much noise/drama white people have made over such small things that really hasn't offended black people we've known over the years.

What about the comedians… and ventriloquists. People pay good money to be abused by mostly men on stage, disabled, disability people, religions, eldery and so on as they clap at it. While nearly throwing flowers (taking the flowers to the extreme) and coming out saying what a fantastic show. As they book new tickets again. Yet you can get that sort of abuse on the streets free of charge. Some women are terrible as well shouting abuse and cursing at others across the streets/town centres.

Comedians get away with so many things yet nobody seems to bother. Yet an old cartoon and all hell breaks loose.

There's the context to consider. One is presenting stereotypes in an intentionally mean way for comedic effect, the other is presenting stereotypes as if they are factual (which could be considered degrading).

Ho hum. Stuff our ancestors did isn't our fault. Being so deliberately apologetic is insulting others' intelligence IMO.
