LLU Speeds/info?

Since joining talktalk we have been put on a 2mb line, which to be honest is running fine now its connected, its producing faster downloads than plusnet did, but they are saying they are moving us onto LLU next month due to it being set up on our exchange on the 31st August. Does this mean ill be on a up to 8mb service, or more? I dont know sweet jack all about LLU, so any info would be nice Ive already looked at adslguide, but they dont explain it as such.

Hello mate, I work for Opal Telecom, a sister company of carphone warehouse. I am currently on LLU free of charge as part of a staff trial.

I get the full 8 meg because my house is so close to the exchange. your speed will depend on how far away you are. it may mean that you dont get any speed increase at all. it depends on your location.

LLU is still a very new product for TalkTalk so expect a few teething problems, nothing too drastic, just the odd outage etc.

Oh, one other thing, pay close attention to how your phone works when you get switched over, mine developed a weird fault that made it sound like a walky talky, was really bl00dy anoying, they sorted it but it did take a week or 2

Im not bothered about speeds really, just as long as its still an alright service although an increase would be nice.

Thanks for the info mate, ill keep an eye on the telephone when we get switched. We had a similar fault when we joined plusnet at first, so a telephone fault wouldnt be anything new really
