Lmao at Origin

He has a right to be an ass and quite frankly if all EA wants is to run a service industry game style, they deserve it.

Wholly so.

CS certainly is a horrible job, a lot of people don't seem to realise they have nothing to do with whatever issue the customer is having. However OP never got out of hand and made a reasonable request for something they're entitled to, the CS rep seemed like an idiot.

The only way to do anything about it at all is to boycott the products themselves, it's as simple as that really. Avoid anything with the EA branding. The problem would be solved over night.

If only more of us were willing to do this. I've got a few companies I've stopped buying from, but it's no real loss to them when so many others don't care/aren't interested in the 'cause' and just want their new game. I mean I can see their side too, I just wish gamers were a bit more united against companies like EA cutting corners and trying to squeeze whatever they can out of the customer.

Second CS Assistant said she couldn't do anything but has passed it on.

I understand your frustration over this issue, I have forwarded your case to our Account and Billing Support. They will arrange a call back within the next 7 days.

why are you phoning them? Write them a letter. If they dont respond to the first, send the 2nd letter to their legal department. Then start a moneyclaim.gov action online. Simple.

The biggest issue is Always-On DRM. I mean requiring an Internet connection to play a single player game. Dumbest thing in the history of computer games and EA repeating past mistakes (anybody say Spore?)

When my mate was talking about this at work adn telling me about buying/selling in your cities and prices being influenced by a global market, sounded good, able to access your city from anywhere just from logging in also sounded great.

Was intending to buy it from Indian Origin but when I got in one night last week my mate had bought it, wouldn't even let him start a game due to server issues.

Then started talking to people at work, no save option, cloud based saves and apparantly you don't even know if its saved. No way to save locally if say for example your BB goes down. From what we were talking about too if the server you created your city on is busy you cant even get in, start all over again LOL seems many people are having similar issues trying to get multiplayer games on the go, then when they finally do they've all got to start from scratch.

Started looking less and less fun, but to the point the game is unplayable?

as many have said it does seem like theyve seem this opportunity just as a chance to do always on DRM and **** the players. I believe amazon were giving warning about this and may have even halted sales of Sim city til the server issues are sorted out.

Wonder how long before someone gets annoyed and private style server appears, not even sure if thats possible tho.

Seems absolutely dross now lol

Surely if you buy the game. And when you try to play it, It wont connect to a server. Which means you can't play it.

Does that not make it unplayable??

Either you CAN play it
Or
You CAN'T play it

i rung ea customer service once when nfs shift wouldn't start. (found out later i had a physx driver on my system from my old nvidia card preventing it from running) the guy said "sometimes pc games just stop working for no reason and its a coincidence you changed your video card" LMFAO

The funny thing is they are charging £45+ for this game and people are paying it! That's £45 in the age of cheaper gaming thanks to steam etc. Has the world gone mad or do people just like to reward companies like EA by pulling down their trousers and bending over, time after time? They are ruining gaming as we know it...

Especially when you aren't getting a disc for that £45, it's a complete rip off. You should not have to pay a premium for digital.

EA ripping off more people  who would have thought?!?!

Gutted I will miss out on sim city and gutted I missed BF3 but I'm happy to be continuing my boycott and dodging the **** that cones as standard with an EA purchase.

Yeah whats the £45 for exactly? The fact they took an iconic PC game and dumbed it down to the level of "The Sims" with tiny maps or the fact you can't even connect to play it? Or maybe the fact they switch off the servers in 2 years time and extract another £45-60 out of you for the next shambolic release?

Take your pick...

It's funny, I usually don't like mindless hate. But in the case of EA it's totally viable. I WANT it to be fashionable and trendy to despise them. I want people who play Fifa and pay £45 for digital online DRM games to be insulted for there purchases.
EA have shown that they openly ignore consumer feedback on there shoddy products and the way they go about marketing them (basically lying), so I really can't see any other way around it.

To be fair, Steam are high price sellers too at times. COD:Blops 2 has been £39.99 since launch apart from once or twice dropping to £33.99.

Take it as you will, but it's not just EA that do it and people are so blinkered with hate at EA and think the sun shines out of Steams butt.
They can't be that good when ppl buy of GMG or Gamefly to add a game to Steam as it's cheaper than direct from Steam.
