Local crazy guy

For the last six months or so, there has been a guy down our road who behaves very erratically indeed. He screams his head off everywhere he goes, sometimes laughing maniacally. You can literally hear him coming two streets away. He's always drinking a can of red bull which he routinely throws in the nearest bush. I know he's not breaking any real laws as such, but I'm a little worried he is genuinely crazy and possibly dangerous. Should I just keep quiet and out of his way? Or report him?

Well he's not knifed anyone yet as far as I know. But he is getting more erratic.

The other day he just suddenly took off like someone had set his ass on fire. Waving his arms shouting as he went.

We have a man who runs past our house each morning at 6:30am on the dot! grunting really loudly. When I say loudly, I mean as loud as his voice will go.
Bizzare. He's kinda become the norm, I think everyone down the street would miss him if he ever stopped.

To start with we thought he was on hands free phonecall or singing to himself or something. But no, he's just ranting and raging at the top of his voice in an unknown language.

He really is nuttier than squirrel poop.

Not sure if dangerous though, that's the big worry...

Well aside from this surely he is verging on public order offences? He clearly has a mental disorder, the question is whether he is getting the best treatment? Any treatment?

I couldn't live with myself if I thought there was any danger to others and I just let someone else deal with it. A call to 111 or email to your local police would take not much longer than you have spent on this thread.

This is my thinking.

Littering = Throw it back at him. Start running if he tries to stab you

Unless he has offended someone on Twitter the police aren’t going to want to know.

I did actually go round and collect all his red bull cans (totalled about 15) in a bag and hung them on his door one night

Unfortunately I got his neighbours door by mistake, so I have a very confused neighbor now....

If I was coming like that, I'd probably be laughing like a loony, too!!

But definitely report him to someone, just in case he does need a bit of help or something.
