Its a bit weak. I would personally say the best value for money for offroad nitro is the Hyper 7 TQ Sport. Only £245 for the RTR kit aswell. :)

but you would always be lusting after the new Mugen Seiki MBX-5 prospec buggy :D but then again it cost 500+ bux just for the chassis alone. im saving all my pennies for a Mugen MRX4-R 8th nitro onroad, but there so damn expensive :(

Pretty much all .21 nitro powered cars hit about 45 stock iirc.

Hmm... I see a hyper 7 truggy conversion project happening this summer :D

I cant keep my tires stuck to the rims when i use a real long 2nd gear and large pinion on my truck, probably about 55mph the tires balloon like mad and past that they just rip off cuz there so soft and heavy. tires really limit the top end for trucks.

right out of the box 8th scale on-roader nitros can hit 70mph gear them and use an outlaw motor they can hit 80mph with ease, these are still uncompromised racers mind. You could go crazy and put a big block engine in a little cheap 10th onroad nitro and give it 3 gears, oh wait a minute Schumacher already did that with there Fusion kit, 80mph+ with 3 gears :D

I was just saying that pretty much all nitro cars will hit 45 fairly comfortably. Obviously there will be extreme cases liek those you mentioned :)

Now shoo... go on... stop trying to prove me wrong :)

yeah most cars would be if they were sent flying into a parked car at 80+ mph :)

yeah like most Schumacher cars the belt drive system is a little weak.

just froogle "schumacher fusion .21" a complete ready to run kit is just a tad over 300bux.

Link for Fusion here .

I have sen the buggy version go (Menace) and its silly fast . But i would rather have something that does 50 and handles and stops than summit that does 80 and is nigh on uncontrolable .
The guy with the menace on wendsday was quickest on the night but only in a straight line and on the perfectly smooth parts of the car park .. Anything more than a pebble and it was all over the place . Where as the trucks and truggies were slower there was no breakages and they could use anywhere on the carpark .

Also the amount of room required for the faster stuff is mental and you can really only take it to super smooth clear carparks which kinda spoils it for me .

Persil

Thats why i love my Electric 1:18 scale offroader. :D Lots of fun and you dont need much room! Still hits about 25mph. Seems more like 45mph. :D

yeah to much topend and not enough wheelbase. you just point and let it rip and hope to god it doesnt flip, hit a car or kill someone :)

pretty cool to watch though!

Really if i wanted speed i would just use my planes. A lot easier to get high speed from them, can get them going a lot quicker (120mph+) for not much money.

I got me a Team Associated RC18T the other day (1/18th stadium truck). Chucked in a Reedy battery and Reedy Mini-Max and it goes like stink. So much fun in such a small package.

Don't get me wrong. I love my 1/10 Losi XXX-4 etc. but the 1/18th stuff is something else.
