Lockpicking

Don't mean to sound like the boring responsible one......... I don't reckon you have any ill intention in mind, but it's worth being aware that if a policeman finds you with a pick set on you then you will be arrested.

Just something to bear in mind. :)

what about car doors?
That's only really going to help chavs. Lock picking is more of a hobby than picking random locks. Otherwise if your that good you might want to become a locksmith.

Was just after general information about lock picking? Can anyone here do it and is it difficult?

Also, looking for some sites with cheap lock picking set just to test my hand at it. Anyone recommend me anything?

Tried using google to find lock pick sets but they're all £15-£20. Is this the price i can expect to pay?

cheers

Do a google search for 'bump keys' iirc.

Yeah i've had a small look at "bump keys" but am skeptical about them. You ever used one? And the annoying thing is that they can be used on single make locks.

At the end of the day, i'm not bothered about quickest entry to locks, i'm more interested in the "can i crack it" side.

I would also like that as a skill, as above, it's a lovely party trick and it's a good feeling that you can actually do something in life... which i haven't managed yet :(

The science behind them is very sound.

United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom, a person who carries a lock pick set (even a home made one) can be charged with the offence of "going equipped", unless they have a good reason for carrying them.[6] The penalty for this can be upward of 5 years' imprisonment. The arresting officer must have "reasonable cause".
