Tis nice to access sites on your phone, I use to check on my ebay auctions at work on my mobile but it is still too slow and expensive for my liking.

Hes very right , opera beta 2 is a very good experience and should not be knocked .

Bar the usable resolution (320x240), a decent PDA phone will have both a stylus and a keyboard
My next device will be VGA too, i keep promising myself that lol.
EDIT: I manage to do basic network support work from my phone anywhere I happen to be... Means I can be on call without having to be within 20 mins of a broadband connection and PC. VPN into work, remote desktop to servers or pull up telnet connections to routers/switches. Great for getting paid to be in the pub

What phone do you have? I've got an aging Qtek 9100 which can do all of those things but it's far too slow, clunky and low res to actually be usable.... hence the laptop. Trying to browse a website on it is a nightmare.

Not sure its just more patience, HSDPA makes life so much easier, having an almost 2mbps connection available means that you can actually use such tools as remote desktop without it taking years to refresh each screen. I used to just use GPRS, then just 3g (until I found how to enable HSDPA on this phone via software tweaks), they were both painfully slow.
The improved resolution of the Portege G900 should help with the endless scrolling around the screen too
