My current card is a 295GTX. Single PCB. It is still working fine with no issues, but looking to upgrade.

I run the system in my sig, logic dictates I should be looking at plenty of VRAM. A 4GB 680GTX looks a worthy contender.

I have been a bit lazy recently and not kept on top of hardware requirments. Do you think I need to upgrade CPU or PSU?
 
Your CPU is far from a slouch in any area tbh and I don't think you will see any major improvement on cpu front.

I would grab a gpu and hold off on a psu/cpu.

920 still have plenty of poke, especially when it's overclocked.

What resolution are you playing at? I don't think anyone needs 4Gb vram unless you're gaming with SLI running across 3 screens with AA on max.

That PSU is one of the best ones you can get out there so no worries there.
 
Logic is highly subjective.

There's also no such thing as a 295GTX or 680GTX... :p

Your CPU is more than good enough, a GTX680 would be massively faster than a GTX295, but they aren't worth their price, especially not the 4GB ones.

I would say "logic" dictates you get a GPU that offers good value for money (like a 3GB 7950) you'd be able to match GTX680 performance with it for a fraction of the cost.

Thanks for responses so far. I have held onto the 295gtx for a few years and my next upgrade will also be kept for a few years.

I have currently been running 3.8 on the CPU for the last 12 months. I have certainly not seen any issues with current games, but did not want the CPU to bottleneck any future GPU.

I game at 2560x1600 native res on the Dell 2007.
