Logitech G5 Mouse Question

You should be able to update the G5's firmware via the software - the latest upgrade I aquired was firmware 1.2 which gives better compatability with mouse mats. a lot of people on here moaned that the mouse was crap because it didnt work with Icemats & visa versa when simply an update to the firmware fixed it within a few minutes of me using the mouse lol. :)

With yours been the 2007 version, you will most likely have yours with the latest firmwares installed in the mouse - worth checking though.
 
Mine doesn't look as shiny as that pic. The good news is that the rubber hasn't got all sticky/rotten like it has one some of the older logitech mice.

For what it's worth, I think the MX518 is superior to the G5. It just feels slightly better, and has a better button layout. I've owned a lot of Logitech mice:

Pilot
Mouseman Wheel
Mouseman Optical
Mouseman Dual Optical
MX500
MX510
MX518
G5

..and I'd say that each was at least as good as the previous one, with the possible exception of the Mouseman Optical and the G5.
Hehe. I think mice are my 'luxury' item for the PC that I change very often, unlike everything else (grotty PS2 keyboard etc).
