Logitech G700s anyone?

Many get issues with profiles going missing, cant say I have so far on many builds of the crappy software.

Are you adding the games .exe to the list (inside my empty circle (not games installed for now)?

Want to get this mouse. Currently use an MX1100 which I got with my Cordless Wave keyboard few years ago.

Can anybody tell me if there is a button on this mouse where the thumb rests - on the MX1100 this button is used as a default application switcher, but I find it handy in fps games as a change of stance button. Would be disappointed if this mouse doesn't have that button as have become used to it.

For everything else though, this looks like it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

The thumb rests just under the 4 side buttons. I guess you could rest your thumb on the buttons themselves, but that feels weird to me.

I personally only use the side buttons for teamspeak and in-game voice.

What sort of games are you looking to use it for?

Pretty much FPS. For everything else I play on TV with 360 controller.

What I meant with thumb button - on the mx1100 there is a 'hidden' button underneath the rubberised thumb rest. I assume this feature has been scrapped as I can find no mention of it anywhere. Oh well, other than that it looks a great mouse and has enough programmable buttons for my needs, since I like to map as many actions to the mouse as possible.

Think I am going to go ahead and order it. Cheers.

Ah I see, that would had been a nice thing to have on this mouse too.

I owned this mouse for about a month now and am really happy with it. The software seems good and going from cable to wireless mode is instant, there is no delay and there is no need to press this button and then this button to get it to work, it's instant soon as you disconnect the cable.

The only complaints about the mouse that I can make is the cable is still "tough" so it kinda drags the mouse sometimes but it's getting better as time goes by.

I have had a G700 since they came out, I find the battery will last me 4-5 days of normal use, which is I reckon 5-6 hours. When I have been home all day and spent more or less the whole day on my computer obviously I have to charge it more often. I only find the battery life starts to become an issue when the Ni-MH batteries have gone through too many charge cycles, I wouldn't recommend you keep charging it when it doesn't need it, for this reason.

I have just ordered a pack of 4 Eneloops. The life of the Duracel 2650mAh rechargeable I have had in it around a year now, is a bit silly, it was great at first but now it goes into the red after about four hours and will run flat in around twelve. However, it gives you dire warnings of battery doom long before it actually runs out.

I use 1200dpi with 333mhz polling rate for desktop use. I switch to 1800dpi and 1000mhz for gaming ...or my Death Adder.

Really I think the G700 is a great all round mouse, but it's not a 'great' gaming mouse, The Death Adder is more responsive, lighter and a better shape. The shape is what makes me keep considering a Mamba, as I bought a Death Adder in 2006 when they launched a bought a DA 3.5G to replace that a year or so ago ...it is the best shaped mouse for me I have ever used, bar none. The G700 is 'similarish' but not the same, although far, far better than the G500/510/518 shape that so many people love, that shape causes me discomfort after a fairly short period.

The G700 is my jack of all trades mouse, it works on my armchair, travels with me and works on my desk, the Death Adder is used only on my main desktop pc for gaming really.

On a related but slightly different note, I ...for what reason I don't know, bought a Corsair M30 a few weeks ago to see what they are like, I thought the shape looked nice and they have a very good sensor ...what a bag of **** that is, the sensor is good but the build quality makes Razer's very worst efforts look amazingly good ...and we all remember how well made the Diamondback was eh, you could do worse for 30 quid though.

Just curious about the hydrophobic coating on the top of this mouse...

...does this mean the graphics on the mouse won't fade from use? On my performance mx all the graphics pretty much faded through use and it ended up looking rather tatty.

Hope that doesn't happen with this top mouse :)

I decided to buy the Logitech G700s to replace the crap kown as the Razor Mamba.

Is anyone using this mouse and can comment on it please?

The ONLY things I would say against it is that the default charge/data cable is far too stiff/annoying. Get a 20p micro-usb bungee cable, take it apart, use the cable.

If you have a game you play a LOT that requires 1 button to be held down the switches aren't THE highest durability (I used to play WoW, holding down right mouse pretty much the whole time becomes almost second nature - had 2 of these where the right mouse button went VERY flakey after time. My current started a bit but I quit WoW about a year ago and it's completely recovered).

I can't otherwise tell the difference between wireless or plugged in response.

Despite the 2 bits mentioned above, I consider myself something of a mouse connoisseur (must have had about... 12 over the last 5 years, mostly "big brand"/premium ones, most still fine and spare or working fine in a new home) and I'd not switch for anything else.

Have... 4 friends who've tried mine, bought one and also wouldn't switch.

So: Get a weak ass cable that won't mess with mouse movement and be a little gentle with it and probably the last mouse you'll buy :)

I'm not a sweaty monkey but not like I'm completely dry either, mines JUST started to fade a TINY TINY bit, only noticeable when compared to the wifes.

I have a G700. Its a great mouse but the cable supplied is crap as it sticks to the desk and is firm if you know what I mean. If you can put a slippery braded sleeve on the cable it would be much better.

Or just find a micro-usb cable that works for you :) There's nothing special about the cable at all apart from the molding at the mouse end but any cable works.
I use one broken free of a bungee cable (so it's practically hair thin and offers zero resistance) and it's ideal.

Thanks for the heads up mate. I just may have to try this. :D

I've had to stop using mine because it was making my palm extremely sweaty, thought it was due to the humid weather we've been having but I found other people complaining about it online.

Switched back to the Performance MX, bingo palm sweat gone.

Search for a decent wireless gaming mouse continues, also tried the Rat 9 but found the sensor awful giving jittery tracking on a variety of surfaces. G602??
