Logitech G700s anyone?

Blatant copy and paste, however covers everything I would retype.

Owned the G700s for a good year now and hands down one of the best mice I've owned.

I'll start with the negatives as it's good to understand them first. Battery life isn't great even using eneloop xXx. However setting the polling rate lower when not gaming I get a good 1-2 days out of it.

You can plug in the cable and use it in wired mode while it still charges but the cable isn't the most flexible. Currently using a micro usb cable I had lying around and it does the job just fine (much shorter cable too).

The good side

Buttons internally use metal construction so are rated for a stupid number of clicks, macro keys and software are great and you can setup different key setups for different games/applications. General setup is web page back/forward and music controls until I load up a game. Tracking and DPI settings are superb and comparing it to a wired gaming mouse I have yet to notice the difference between them in terms of lag.

The scroll wheel has a rather interesting feature. Pressing the button behind it you can either engage it to click as you scroll or disengage it and the scroll wheel will free spin. Enabling you to fly down long files or web pages. You've also got side scrolling and a button on the scroll wheel when you press down on it.

Anyway, any questions just drop a message below.

Just ordered the G700s from Amazon for Friday delivery, looking forward to using it.

Though, will this be okay on a hard mat like the Razor Ironclad?

It'll be fine. I use mine straight on my wood desktop, but laser mice are good tracking on anything but glass.

I must be blessed then... My G700s gets an easy 26 hours use out of a single charge!!

No you don't. You only get 6 hours. Don't argue with me!

As I understand it, both the USB report rate and the DPI settings effect battery life.

I'm happy enough with the battery life. I mostly use it for desktop (around 2000 dpi, 1000hz report rate) with some gaming and it lasts about 2 days.

Not arguing... merely making an observation :p
Whatever you say, I will be righter than you, though!! :D

Seriously though, I wonder if having a lower DPI has anything to do with it? I tend to hover around the 2200 mark.

"spoffle" is trying to be funny same as in another thread, keyboard Rambo, in the street a girl.

If you get that long I am happy for you and hope it stays like that.

He made it up as I never said that but go read their forums for input.

Glad I seen this as now I can set the fool to ignore.

Look in thread I linked to where it was discussed and see my screenshot, that is my settings 99% of the time and I may not game for weeks and short batt life.

I think he got that part...

Yeah, he understands I was joking, hence the bit where he said "seriously though", you know, it shows he understood that we were joking around and not being serious.

Bet 2 troll posts with nothing to do with mouse.

Had a glance at this thread figured I would just write about my experience with the Logitech G700. Granted this is no the S but they are a very similar device with a few differences.

I love it. I have had mine for around 6-8 months now - I use it all day at work on the cable then take it home and use it all night on the wireless and when the weekend comes around I go all weekend on the wireless as well. The reception with the little dongle is fantastic even without using the extension to get it from the back of the machine. When the machine is wired the wire is long and has a decent amount of flex in it without feeling like you could easily damage it.

The feel of the mouse is great (Although this might differ with the S as I think it uses a different plastic). It has a bit of weight behind it but I am comfortable with this as light mice such as the Razer Deathadder I find just don't feel right to me.

The software is brilliant although I play more games than available for seperate macro profiles so I have a few profiles exported and occasionally have to switch them around but only occasional as most my FPS games for example use the same profile as they are similar controls. I have relatively smallish hands for a man and I do not find any of the buttons uncomfortable to reach or use in a practical fashion when in game.

This teamed up with the G13 make for a great pair. And I very much doubt you would regret your purchase (If you haven't got it already - I didn't read the entire thread as I am at work :P haha)

Although others may have a different opinion as that is exactly what this is; my opinion of that particular product and I welcome anyone else to offer counter statements about the mouse as to not give a one sided thread about the product.

CQ.

Carry on pretending you didn't click 'show post'

You know what's funny? In another thread he demanded one on one support off the forums because he apparently struggles using forums, yet he's found the ignore list pretty quickly and easily, since he keeps showing off that he's putting people on it. Funny how that works isn't it?

"spoffle" is trying to be funny same as in another thread,
Don't worry - I don't take things that seriously anyway. Besides, the emoticons kinda gave it away.

Actually I tend to ignore such forums on the whole, unless there are a LOT of similar threads... as in many hundreds. Simple reason being you don't get very many threads of people saying, "Hey, just want to rant about how my peripheral is fine, how it works flawlessly, how it is just as described, how it is really excellent and how I have nothing to complain about".

At best, I'll look at User Reviews, both here and on those sites that cannot be named. The more high marks, the better.
As is, the G700S scores pretty darn high across all the users who have reviewed it, with only a few scoring notably low and even then it was pointed out that half those simply hadn't read the manual.

Logitech reckon you should get about 8-10 hours use from a single charge. I get much more and that suits me. That's all there is to it, really.
If anyone is not getting the 8-10, it could just be a duff one...
