Logitech headset..oops

Ok second one of these iv'e fked, sat on first on and broke actual headset, second one was plugged into laptop and usb got bend, have cut the wire halfway off the first one (usb still perfect) and was seeing if i could reattach it to the second one, anyone know if this is possible with these weird 'furry' wires..

why are they all wierd and fibrey, why cant they use normal wire

nah it only cost me like £15 from ebay, as did first one, amazing piece of kit for value as well, im just clumsy
