I just bought the MX3200 and its working great apart from one thing. My media buttons do not work unless my media player (foobar) is in focus/active!

Is it a common problem? is there a fix for this?

Yes and yes, I had this with Foobar too. You can fix it by setting them as keyboard shortcuts explicitly in foobar:

File > Preferences > General > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Add New, click in the 'key' box at the bottom, press the appropriate media key and assign it to the appropriate job. Then make sure 'Global Hotkey' is checked.

Thanks for replying.
After clicking on the key box, it does not recognise the media keys i press. What version of foobar you using?

i do believe that fooboar didnt recognise media keys in the shortcuts page until fairly recently. make sure you have the latest version of foobar which at last check was 0.9.5.1

I'm using Foobar 0.9.5.1, but don't have the same keyboard as you - I'm using a Logitech LX300 plugged in via PS2. Have you got Logitech's keyboard drivers / software installed? (Although mine works with / without).

I assume you guys do not have the logitech software setpoint running? It recognises the media buttons fine if the software is not running.

I have managed to get it to recognise my media button and setpoint running using the following hack - click here

Thanks for all your help

I need to install uberOptions for the media keys to work in Foobar when it's not in focus. Didn't need to change any settings, just install uberOptions.
