logitech mx revolution

yup, had mine for around 1 year and a half, faultless mouse and I love it. Very ergonomical, smooth, a joy to use. The only thing i found a bit wierd at first is there is no middle click, but I installed an addon for firefox to open new tabs and links with right click, so sorted. I would definatley recommend it. Worked fine for me also in CoD4 on pc, but nowadays I prefer gaming on ps3.

Thats broken mate, ofcourse it has middle click!

Mine defaults to middle click being middle click, and when I spin the wheel quickly it changes to free spinning mode.

Ah, I have mine set to change the modes as well as the speed change. It's been a while since I've changed any options so didn't know it could act like a middle click.

I love my revolution, but really wish I could map the button behind the scroll wheel to be double click. I don't like clicking the wheel as a middle button. Other than that, it's brilliant. The side wheel is very useful as volume control (and mute, by clicking it in), and the side buttons are mapped to copy and paste, for me.

What's wrong with double clicking?

I have the side scroll set up for forward and back skip and play/plause for music and the side buttons for forward and backwards in browsers etc

Couldn't stand it in games.... It was laggy, slow and the wheel sucked beyond belief.

Decent mouse for desktop use though, I like the quick scroll etc. but yeah, bought a G5 to replace my dead g7 and never looked back, best mouse I have ever held. so IMO if you are going to play a game, look for something else.

When I want to open a link in a new tab, it's easier to middle click rather than right clicking and left clicking. Lazy I know, but it's how I'm used to it. I still do double click on the desktop.

Also, Killing Floor requires a middle button for alternate fire, because right click is to look down the sights. Firing by clicking the scroll wheel isn't easy.

In firefox you can just hold ctrl and left click to open page in a new tab.

I'm confused. You said you wanted the middle button behind the wheel for double clicking, but then in the quoted post you say you want it to do middle click. I have it set up for middle click. If you haven't already, I suggest you find and download UberOptions.

I know, but that still defeats the point of pressing one button. I'm in Chrome, by the way.

No I didn't. I said I wanted the middle button behind the wheel because it's easier to click, not because I want to double click. Setpoint doesn't allow you to map the button behind the wheel to middle click. Although thanks for mentioning UberOptions, it seems to be exactly what I need.

Edit: Sorry, looking back I did say double click. I don't know why I said that, I meant middle click. :D
