My dad uses the MX1000 with his laptop, recently it hasn't appeared to be charging or the battery is dead. There are no lights coming up on the battery indicator on it, nor is the laser underneath showing any life. Is there any way to check myself if anything's wrong or does it have to be sent off to the retailer (I think it was OcUK I ordered from!)

Clean the metal pads on the base of mouse, I ended up using a pin!

Have to do this twice a year now for my MX1000 to make a proper contact with the base station.

Hm, this may be a bit redundant but paradigm's suggestion is a good one as the connectors on the MX1000 are notorious for losing contact, especially once the mouse is a few years old (corrosion I think).

You may have to keep trying to reseat the mouse in the charger to get a contact, try placing it lightly, rather than forcing it down. I have one that's 3 or so years old and it's temperamental with charging.

If that doesn't help then I think you'd need to contact Logitech, rather than OCUK. Apparently their customer service is good so they might help even if it's not under warranty (especially as it's a slight design fault). Not sure though, just what I have heard

Thanks very much for the reply, can't seem to get it to charge so will get in contact with Logitech. Their customer service is great from what I've experienced so will give it a go.
