Considering buying this mouse as you can get it for £50 now which isn't too rich for me, I like the aesthetics and the free spin wheel sounds awesome. It also looks like a really comfortable mouse.

At the moment I have a sidewinder x8 wireless mouse which isn't very comfortable for me and has cheap feeling buttons and a very poor scroll wheel which gives you no confidence.

Would the performance mx be a good upgrade? My main use is gaming and I don't have room for a mousepad so the mouse must work fine on a wooden desk surface. I might get one of those huge mats ocuk sells so my whole desk is covered

How is the battery life? From what I've read it needs charging about once every two weeks, which sounds amazing...

Any reasons why I shouldn't buy this mouse? Oh I've heard its quite heavy but I'm a large chap so shouldn't be much of a problem.

Thanks guys.

I have the MX. Nothing short of perfect for my needs.
My brother has the G700.. again perfect.

I use mine for gaming and general stuff..

Re: battery; I get about a month out of mine with it being used 2 hours a day in the week after work and then mainly on the weekends. (not all day every day though)
How much would you use it?

The mouse is without doubt the comfiest i've had.

Excellent battery life, really comfortable and I can't use a mouse now without the free spin wheel, best thing to happen to mice :)

Not used it for gaming but amazing for all round use (I now have the G700 which is fairly similar, though more aimed at gaming)

I get about 3days batt life out of mine if Im lucky:confused::(

Its just under a year old, but even when it was new the batt life was still about 3-4 days. Does it effect the batt life using it on dark surfaces, as I use mine on a black mat?

get a couple of weeks use out of my, upgraded from the MX Rev which again was a great device but it would take a hell of a good device to get me to change away from the performance.

Can't fathom why it would to be honest.
Been using mine on a Razer Goliathus for a good few months.

Seriously send Logitech a webnote/suppport message explain the problem and ask them is there anything they can do.

ive also got this mouse, had it for 2 years now and still get 2 to 3 week's from one charge.

not worth sending logitech a note as this mouse has a removable battery, just replace it your self.

superb mouse :)

Haha of course it has a removeable battery! What a plonka :D

Phil, replace your battery with something decent! I'm still on the original it came with though.

Not sure if many people knew this :)

im still on my original one as well.

Im guessing ppl would have known this, as you need to remove paper from the positive connection in the batt compartment before you can use it

I still perfer the Logitech MX1000 as I dont think the MX Rev or Performace MX comes anywhere close, accept for the wheel,

Now a MX1000 with Hyper fast scrolling, would be the best mouse ever made in my opinion. God the mx 1000 was a awsome mouse, then it slowly went down the pan for the MX series.

rhysduck, one question for you (sorry if I'm not clear, but english is not my first language)

I'm considering to buy the performance MX or the G700. I don't need such a lot of extra buttons, I'm a casual gamer. But I use a claw grip so, for the thumb buttons, the closer the better (closer to the "bottom" of the mouse I mean). Which one has the thumb buttons more reachable, using a claw grip? I think the g700 is a bit smaller, so that would help...

I also use a lot my computer, so I don't know if I will find a huge battery life difference between these mice, using the mouse long hours...

Hi Khodos,
Sorry only just saw this :)
To be honest, both mice have very similar button positions.
Here is the G700

and here is the MX

.
As you can see the side buttons are in similar positions but the G700 has an extra few to the left hand side at the top.

I hope it's enough info to answer your question. Feel free to ask more if you wish :)
