Lads im at my wits end here. I got a new mouse today the Logitech G9x and trying to get logitech setpoint going with it is frustrating. I think my troubles start with installing the cd that came with the mouse, unknown to me that was out of date software. So I deleted that and downloaded the new software but I keep getting the

Iv read up about uninstalling the setpoint software and deleting it from the registry (iv tried but unsure did i delete it all) no luck

The worse thing is it works no bother on my laptop

Any advice pleaes :(

Try uninstalling with Revo uninstaller it will remove every thing from the registry then reinstall to the latest version.

Download CCleaner and let it scan the reg then delete any entries relating to the Setpoint software. Restart and then install the latest version from the Logitech website.

I tried that didnt remove the registry stuff

Maybe because its only free version im using ?

When you use revo it'll scan for registry entries when it's done using the built in uninstaller. You need to make sure you 'select all' and 'delete' when it has finished scanning for entries.

Try the advanced uninstall if that doesn't work

once its installed, run the .exe as admin. Mine used to do that same, that it wouldnt detect the mouse if it wasnt run as admin. Also using same mouse as you too.

Sorry lads about not replying. In the end I decided just to send it back to the shop. I dont think ill go near logitech stuff again. Looking at logitech forum it seems setpoint is awful. I had trouble with their headset drivers and now the mouse trouble.

I had the same problem with the same mouse. Turns out windows doesn't like it when I attach something new to a USB 3.0 port. I attached it to a 2.0 port, recognised and installed fine, then used the USB3.0 port again and it still works flawlessly.

Had exactly the same issue with my corsair K90 mechanical keyboard software due to the same reason.

Cant say I've had an issue with the setpoint software, apart from not detecting it at first unless ran in admin, but that seems to be fixed now.
