Does anyone here have experience of Logmein123 licensing? I can see the pricing plans:

My question is this: If I were to buy Pro for Small Businesses (access up to 10 computers) then does that mean:

1) 10 remote computers can be accessed concurrently. For example there could be a pool of 20+ computers in the company but only 10 computers can be accessed at the same time.
or
2) A maximum of 10 computers can be setup in the system, regardless of how many remote desktops are actually accessed at the same time. For example if the company bought an 11th computer then more licenses would be needed to allow that computer to be remotely accessed at some point in the future.

Thanks.

Sounds like a question for one of those 100k PA "Sales Engineers". :D

I'd assume it's most likely the latter case (the marketing refers to up to X computers without making any additional qualifications to that like at once, concurrently etc.) but the former doesn't seem unreasonable.

Just to follow this up I found an interesting piece of open source software with similar functionality called Remotely. It allows users to go to a URL (which you have to setup yourself though), provide you with a unique reference number over phoen or chat, and that allowss you to connect to them and access their PC remotely. It's free apart from the cost of setting up a Linux server in the cloud and pointing your sub domain to it. I need to evaluate it further but it does seem good.

I went from logmein to splashtop (logmein kept increasing prices year on year doubling most of the time over many years so finally had enough and cancelled a couple of years ago) which allowed me to let as many users access their office pcs from home as we needed. Currently licensed for up to 500 computers and includes the one off downloadable sos tool for non installed pcs. Their annual fee hasn't risen yet and I'd still half the price of logmein or better.

Why don't you try rustdesk or anydesk.

Thanks. I might be wrong but I think both of those need a client application permanently installed on the machine? What I am looking for is for someone to go to a URL and easily install something to allow me to connect.

I don't think it's possible in any os without a client installed. Windows 10/11 pro is coming with Remote desktop preinstalled. You can easily connect to it without any third party software. It works really well than any competitor.

While that's true, with LogMeIn (and also Remotely) you can go to a URL and it downloads the client. I appreciate that's not much different to installing it in advance or talking someone though it but it just feels more fluid to me.

May be you can try Google remote desktop https://remotedesktop.google.com/?pli=1 it works id you have google chrome and browser extension installed. You don't need to install any agent there.

TeamViewer QuickSupport is another option. You can put the download on your own website and direct people there to download it.

You'd need to look at the licensing costs for number of channels (concurrent remote sessions IIRC) you need, but worth comparing to LMI. Lots of other tools in this area, like ZohoAssist
