Logo critique

You've got some strange artefacts on the first B of your original. I also like the gradients on the wave like before, but it is neater and you've got to work to the dimensions. I'd also maybe add a gradient to the dark blue too, a bit like how the sea gets darker.

Something like:

However, needs more of that. You've certainly got the "seaside-based" bit nailed. Unfortunately, if there's one thing that potential customers of your cafe don't need to be told by your shop sign, it's "You're at the seaside" :p

I like Gord's, looks good for a seaside snack bar. I'd go there, I'm an easy customer. Good contrast on the logo, and the wave adds more fun and 'danger' :p

EDIT : oh ****. :( I always have great timing for moronic comments :o

More seriously
My point is serious :(

That logo could be equally suitable to a surf shop, a souvenir shop, an amusement arcade even. Pretty much every type of establishment that you can expect at a seaside resort will fit that logo.

It's not a criticism of the execution; I'm suggesting that for the purpose of effective promotion/communication, it may need a slight focus-shift.

Yeah true, but I don't think it will be a problem since the other signs we're having done will display what we sell, plus you can easily see into the place and can see what we sell. Plus I'm not sure what else I could do to it at this stage without making it look cluttered

You're logo isn't really for people stood outside the establishment. If you've got other signs then it's fine, just remember if your logo gets spread around and you can't tell what it's for then what use is that?

It only works when you're big enough to have brand recognition. Then you can plaster the world with big yellow M's and Apple logos and people know exactly what's going down there.
