Hi Guys

I'm after a sleek, professional logo for all my freelance IT support. I work under the trading name DV8 IT Services and would like a logo designed.

Needs to be fairly simple, with a white, black/grey and blue colour scheme.

Anyone with some spare time give me a few desgns?

Thanks

Burnsy

Companies pay hundreds, sometimes thousands for logo design, nobody in their right mind is going to do this for free...

Alright, chillax, if you don't want to do it fine, but don't be so negative i am sure someone will give it a go

People on here have done before. I think it's called doing someone a favour. ;)

Nobody in their right mind. Im gonna go ahead and assume you people berating me for my comment are not graphic designers nor have the skill to produce quality work. Fact is, industry minimum wage for a freelance designer is 40 quid an hour, if you want to sell yourself short, go ahead :) Not my issue...

There's a difference between doing favours and charity work. Note he says he wants a sleek professional logo, professional means by someone whose being paid for their talents ;)

You're coming across as a bit arrogant.

Some 'lesser skilled' people on here may be prepared to give it a go to try and improve their skills further and also helping someone out at the same time.

You might be surprised athow many helpful people there on here!

Quoted for truth.

If you perceive it as arrogance then sorry, its not meant to be. Its advice, think about how much use a logo for a freelance worker is going to get, dont sell yourselves short.

if somebody wants to do it then great some people like to help others out its what makes a community.

if not then im sure fozzy will try elsewhere and maybe pay or do it himself.

but posting comments like "nobody in there right mind will do it for free" is just spam. if youve got nothing positive / helpful to say why bother saying it

lol prepare for some tack;

Get your facts straight fella. There was a massive thread on this very forum about people constantly asking for work that people normally pay hundreds for. For anyone who produces work that is of professional quality (which is what the original poster is asking for) then they quite rightly should expect to be paid for their services.

I personally have created many sigs/banners for people on this forum so dont talk to me about community or not being helpful, take your holier than thou attitude elsewhere thanks.

Logo design for a company is a completely different kettle of fish to a quick graphical favour, it directly influences the way his company is perceived and can make or break a lot of business for him. Its not a lot to expect some form of reward for your work is it?

This thread has just given me quite a fuzzy feeling. This is why OcUK is a community.

Even if there's not a perfect design, its nice to be able to get some ideas.

Thanks everyone.

Exactamundo. This is a totally different ball game to making sigs for people or making header images for someone's personal site.

Sorry if i got you wrong. :)

I just think it's impolite to post so negatively in a thread that you have no wish to add to positively. OK, so you don't wish to help the OP out. Others might and already have.

I agree but still

he asked for some designs

if i was any good with graphics i do him some. what i wouldnt do is tell him what somebody else wont do for him.

Fozzy - no worries, yea I may have come across harsh in my first post and im sorry for that, but in my later posts I think i've covered what I meant in a more eloquent way :p

HTML - he asked for professional designs, that denotes paid work, what I should have said is "nobody is likely to produce you professional work without payment". Purely because designers capable of producing professional work will be doing things such as this for a fair whack of money :p

If I was to produce several designs that I felt worthy of being the face for a company then I would be spending many hours to get it right. If someone wants to knock something out really quickly for fun then thats up to them, but its not likely to be of a professional standard.
