Logo - need feedback

Hey ,

I have designed the logo below , this the second logo I have ever designed. I would like some feedback, good and bad points, anything that you might think.

I am going for a clean yet stylish look.

Very complex for a logo, lots of different elements. How will it look in different formats; paper print, cloth print, on screen, etc.

What has the "K" in big purple circle got to do with the rest of it?

its the surname but only the first letter. ok so you think i should get rid of some of the elements? even more simpler?

I don't like the font and also feel the letters are spaced too far apart. The image of the dress just doesn't look right either in my opinion and the "K" looks out of place.

No need for the pic of the dress IMO.

Why not turn the M into a set of wardrobe doors or something

As for me there are a lot of elements, logo should be simple.

For this type of logo id be tempted to just make it a typeface

Make it simpler. Then make it simpler. And when you can't make it any simpler, make it simpler. You get the idea

Oh and lose the copyright symbol, just looks amateur. Everything is copyrighted by default.

Lose the 'K' thing, I'd say possibly keep the dress, but lose any detail/complexity by making it a silhouette (i.e. just the 'shape'). Also, the font choice/spacing/style is pretty dreadful.

Interested to see future iterations

The design looks cheap, reminds me of a cheap foreign clothes shop. What sort of costumes does the company design ?

It seem's to be more of a banner then a logo, A logo should be something small and easily identified

Its for theatre, and movie costumes, and also if somebody wants like a dress for a some occasion pretty much anything really.

As has already been said, you have the wrong idea of how a logo should look. It should be bold, simple and aesthetically pleasing. Check around on here to get an idea.

No problem. As with most creative things, near everything is inspired by something else; be it buildings, logos or a call to action button on a website.
Just make sure you ONLY use inspiration sites to help shape your design, not create it for you.

Also, I prefer this site over the one I already posted.

OK, so i followed some of your advice and here is what i have at the moment.
I just screen grabed the logo from illustrator thats why images are really big, obviously I will resize the logo for other things like bussiness cards.
