......well, not quite:

Court fight looms over Sainsbury's cat ban

Just seen this on the BBC News Website. This first thing to catch my attention wasn't anything to do with the cat, it was the first few words of the sub-heading:
An autistic man with autism....

At first I was thinking the calibre of BBC journalism has reached a new low, but then I thought is this just super-PC deliberate, like you can identify as being autistic without actually having the condition? Like Loretta and his right to have babies from Monty Python.

Anyway, I'm fully behind Sainsbury's. What if said cat takes a dump on the deli counter or attacks someone? This might sound harsh to some, but Ian and his cat can do one. If he can't do his shopping without his cat, or find a supermarket that has quiet times for autistic people (some did this during lockdown - don't know if any have continued to do so), perhaps he should visit Sainsburys.co.uk (other supermarkets are available) and have his shopping delivered to him at home.

Judges will have to be careful with this ruling. If they side with him they will be really letting the cat out of the bag for people to claim any animal is for their assistance

You should all paws to reflect that this is serious, and not a laughing matter.

To be fair I completely get why he's upset with Sainsbury's. The cats trained and sits on his shoulder, and it clearly helps his with his autism in daily life. The guy even got permission beforehand.

I never understood supermarkets allow wheel chairs, baby buggies/prams but don't allow people to push a bike around.

I'm surprised he can get a cat to sit on his shoulder whilst he travels to/from a supermarket and whilst he walks around the store, I don't see how it's really any different to a dog unless stores only strictly allow guide dogs.
the people with guide dogs probably aren't full blind though just legally blind?

I bet they could manage with a stick, it's not like the dog is finding a can of beans etc for them
