lol NEXT...

I got caught out by this too, years ago. Sly ****ers. Not used them since. The worst thing is that I did buy some jeans, entered the full amount the site asked for to pay for it (like any normal site), but actually that wasn't the full amount (because they sent me a catalogue) and I ended up getting bad credit as a result.

I sympathise with the op. I've never experienced this kind of shenanigans with any other online shop. Everywhere else, you create an account and pay how you choose to, end of story. With Next they're sending you catalogues then billing you for them (who pays to be advertised to?!) forcing you to ring to cancel.

Yes they'll refund the cost if you call and complain, but that's hardly the point, is it Castiel .

I had the same thing happen, even after I phoned up to cancel my account as I didn't want a credit account opening. I also have no option to say no to the free catalogue either. Their online service is a joke.

Thanks for getting in touch regarding your account.

I am sorry to hear that a credit account was opened which you were unaware of. I can imagine how upsetting this must be for you.

What I can do is remove the credit facility for you which means any orders you do place will need to be paid upfront during the checkout screen.

In addition, the charge for the Directory has now been deducted and all future directories cancelled.

I can assure you, we have no intention to cause distress to our customers and hope to solve this query as soon as possible.
Bet you get loads of people who don't know any better paying up the 3.50 though every time they get a catalogue

That is not all..

I on two occasions added few clothes into my basket and proceeded to checkout but at the "confirm your order page" I closed down my browser as I changed my mind.. The cheeky buggers still proceeded to send me the items! along with the Next Directory (beat that OCUK, you and your free haribo bag :p)

(sorry for "bumping" this)

wow that's shocking

I went through the same hassle about 6 years ago, they've been doing it for ages. In my case I'd said I didn't want any catalogues but they sent one and billed it anyway, so I had to call up to get them stopped and a refund.

The days of catalogue fapping are long gone anyway :P

Boycott Next, teach the arrogant sob's a lesson in modern consumerism, they're a poxy high st clothes store a bit better than BHS who seem to have gotten above themselves by a fair margin.

Email them and ask what the fee was for, then say you never got the catalogue, if they say theyll send you out one say you do not want one. It becoming a joke these days companies charging you so you can view what product to buy, next it'll be websites.
