Just saw that, don't think many were injured. Could have been a lot worse.

Hi there,

Previously unknown to me, my Mrs has booked us a weekend away in London, with an evening seeing a West End Show.

Course if something does happen, as long as your both ok you will have the ultimate "I told you so" get out of jail free card to play on the wife for the next 50 years ;)

It is unlikely anything will happen, although if these failed attempts were staged to take up resources and distract away from a more focused attack by a better organised group over the weekend then that sucks

You shouldn't be worried in the slightest. There hasn't been an actual incident in London in 2 years. Even if there was an attack on the day you were there then the chances of you being involved are still negligible. You are probably more likely to be killed getting dressed in the morning.

Seriously, relax. I'm working in London over the summer and I'm really not worried in the slightest. Forget about it and have a good night.

Doubt posting here will have much effect because I just agree with the general consensus here. Don't let this affect you, just get on with stuff. You planned to go to London, so go to London. You aren't going to be killed by terrorists.

On the central line too lol. bet that will be popular with tourists and workers alike :D.

You have thousands of times more chance of being hit by a car or stabbed to death by a mugger or all manner of horrible things yet your probably not worried about them.....why not?

Your just the type of person the Government and the terrorists love.

While I'm really looking forward to it, I have some real reservations about going - namely - there was an attempted terrorist attack there last weekend...

you shouldn't be apprehensive about going to London due to terrorist attacks, be apprehensive about it because it's a smog fuelled den full of pink eyed wierdos :)

Crikey, I was in Leicester Square at midnight on the day they found the first bomb in Picadilly and I bet a few people on here were even closer. Fact is, they found the bomb and sorted it and they've just lowered the terror rating to severe. Even on 7/7, 50 people died. While it is a tragic and needless loss of life, there are 10 million people in London so a sense of perspective is needed, you'll be fine.

I am going to London on Saturday to watch the prologue of the TdF regardless of the number of sevens that happen to appear in the date on that particular day. I find it hard to believe and rather depressing that people are actually scared to go to London in case they get blow up :(

I've worked in central London since 1990, so plenty of IRA/loonie Jihadist bombs in that time. Typical reaction of a London commuter following a bomb going off is to get REALLY annoyed when they close your tube line down. Other than that, most people don't really give a monkeys.

Made me chuckle as its so true :D

Kings X was closed a few weeks ago with a suspect package and people were grumbling about having to go on the northern line.

Gotta love commuters :p

I was on it! Never seen so many people in a blind panic before, loads of people nearly got trampled when the rear carriages saw the smoke from the brakes and surged forward, everyone in my carriage was fairly calm and managed to calm down the rear carriages before anyone got hurt, although one person did sprain their ankle in the rush I think.

A lot of people were in shock and crying, I'd hate to be on a train if a bomb went off if that's how people react in a derailment!

You're worrying about nothing. The government have got you scared over nothing. With all of the stabbings\shootings\road deaths\violence that goes on in London daily it's amazing you're scared about something as infrequent as a terrorist attack. Even if one did occur, London is huge and the chances of you being in that 50m radius are stupidly low.

Don't let the terrorists or the government change your way of life. Just get on with it.
