I did a search and couldn't find anything. Basically myself and a female friend and going London for a day next week, and I've been left to decide the itinerary. Now the London Eye is a definite and I know where we're eating. I also like the look of the British Museum since its now free and I haven't been there for years, my problem is though that I don't know where else to go. We don't fancy the Dungeons, Tussauds, the Aquarium etc and the internet is only of limited use. So I was looking for suggestions of somewhere interesting/enjoyable that isn't quite as dull as some might see the museum (bit of a contrast). So where have you been on visits to London, and are they worth going to? And are there decent quiet pubs that people could recommend for the evening?

Thanks.

Tate Modern has a good slide in there at the moment - not far from the London Eye either.

Boat ride to Greenwich afterwards (Cutty Sark's there).

Or are you after the usual bar's/clubs etc?

I'm planning the exact same day at the moment for me and a female friend!

Also been left in charge of what to do and at the moment I'm leaning towards London Zoo and have some lunch in there, then a trip on the London Eye and then a meal in the evening.

London Zoo - 1pm start 5pm finish
Go to a nice pub down the road from the eye for a drink and maybe walk along the river for a while
London Eye - 7pm Start - 7.30/8pm finish
Meal from 8/8.30pm in Covent Garden.

I don't know london very well but concidered a boat trip/tour on the river as I did that few years ago and enjoyed it, just not sure on the weather as it's open top.

Where are you planning on eating?

http://www.2for1entry.co.uk/ has a few ideas.

You might try the Rock Garden in Covent Garden Ukadder, ate there recently after a concert with my missus, truly excellent food.

Thanks very much for the suggestions, that site was a lot of help, and has made things more affordable :p. Nice lot of options now and it seems easier to plan, can I endure Tussauds is the question as I know she wants to go.
