What is it with London drivers that they think cars can float through water like a boat.

They had a load of rain last night and my home page has pictures of BMW driver up to steering wheel stuck under a bridge in 4ft of water.

Perhaps the car dealers should put a sign on them when selling them - "Cars do not work under water" ;);)

Just a good job it wasn't an inch of snow - the whole of south east would have ground to a halt by now.

Edit - perhaps I should have put this in weather thread

It's because they arrive not used to it, and someone shown them a picture of a kitted out 4x4 wadding. We get it with landrovers they fit a snorkel and think they can wade through a river

Yes, because no one north of the Watford gap has ever done something similar.....

They all know that their cars can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee :p and yes, you should have stuck it somewhere else. :D

It never fails to amaze me how thick people are when the roads get wet. We're not talking about advanced driver stuff either, but basic motor / survival skills which should be deepy routed in them as a human being, yet you still see people driving like idiots, getting stuck in flooded underpasses, etc etc.

How these people have managed to get to driving age without forgetting to breathe or stab themselves in the heart with a wooden spoon is beyond me.

Was that in New Malden? If not there was a second BMW stuck in water under a bridge this morning!

This has cheered me up, it turns out that it was right outside the tower I sometimes work in... Just talking to my colleague about it. :D
