London Hotel advice - Saturday

Me and my wife are off to see Pulp at Hammersmith 'Eventim' Apollo on Saturday.

Usually it's 30 minutes back on a train from Liverpool Street to Chelmsford, but due to strike action the last trains are leaving before the gig even finishes (Tube running fine)

So I'm now thinking I will need to drive in, and get a hotel overnight.

Options are:

Hotel near(ish) the venue either with parking, or at least a secure car park nearby. It doesn't need to be anything fancy as long as it's clean/comfortable/quiet.

Or

Park at Stratford overnight (a lot easier/quicker for me to drive to) and a hotel over that side of London, nearby.

in which case any suggestions?

We’ll see you there :D

Can’t help with hotels, and no you can’t stay at mine. I certainly wouldn’t recommend going anywhere near Stratford on a Saturday night, let alone staying there!

If you’re feeling flush the Hoxton in Shepherds Bush is probably lovely, I’ve stayed in a couple of those before.

I can’t imagine anywhere is going to be affordable at this short notice. Can’t you tube out quite far and get a taxi?
Now that the Queen Elizabeth line is running, I can tube out Shenfield, but that will take over an hour and then still leaves us 20 miles from my house.

Also it looks like a reduced service after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

I don't know how much you want to spend but they have parking.

Not far from Hammersmith.

Are you trying to get me to stay in an absolute dive on purpose?

Ended up going for the Holiday Inn express earls court

£160 - £135 voucher = £25.

Bit further out, but it's got parking there and 7 min walk from West Brompton station

There you go you looking for cheap, as I said no point giving other hotels.
But unlike your suggestion, it wasn't the bottom 10% of hotels in London on TripAdvisor with reviews like "stay in a homeless shelter instead" and "Avoid unless you like sharing your room with rodents"

It's the top 30%, which is fine for somewhere to stay after a gig.

The tube engineering works were a bit of a pain, we ended up walking all the way to the Apollo which took 25 mins or so.

Hotel was fine. Clean, Comfortable bed, dark with the curtains shut, quiet etc. Had the free breakfast this morning that was pretty basic but did the job after a night out drinking.

Nothing wrong with the area, 'The Prince' was right near by and was a good pub and had a good atmosphere (crowd was quite young though). Why does everything shut so early though? We thought we would get an Uber back to there after the gig, arrived at 11:10 p.m. and that and the Lillie Langtry were both closing.

Oh and I did happen to walk past Hotel Lily on the way to the Earls Court tube station and you can tell it was a dive from the outside.

No, parking was not free with the room - you have to book that seperately as there are only about 12 spaces, but the hotel give you a token so you can come and go as you please.

So definitely reserve ahead of time.

This is the link for their specific car park
