Do they use different lenses for different parts of the picture?
Also I never knew they did the stitching manually, I would have thought a computer would have done it.
Yeah they were interviewing the guy's who took the picture it was quite interesting, they needed to complete the process in an hour so the light didn't change significantly but it took 3 months to stitch them together.
Shot with EF 400mm f/2.8 IS II USM lenses and Extender EF 2x III teleconverters driven by special Rodeon VR Head ST robotic panorama heads and it was stitched by computer.

Have to say, probably the worst one I've seen yet?
Seriously, some of the other gigapixel images seem much better quality, they're done in a better location and the interface is nowhere near as terrible.
