random question but is there a main trainstation in the centre of london? (Apart form the underground) i have only been to london once when i was about 10.
Is it London Euston?

Another random question : How close is buckingham palance to where all the main shops etc are in london?

There are a couple of them:

Euston
Kings Cross
Paddington
Marylebone
Fenchurch Street
London Bridge
Waterloo
St Pancras
Charing Cross
Cannon Street
Victoria
Waterloo East
Blackfriars
City Thameslink
Liverpool Street

Probably some more that I haven't got!

oh **** :o

which is the "main" one?
Im looking at going there from these three train stations without changes

Manchester-
Huddersfield-
Wendover-

ok bascially its to meet my GF when im in the RAF training on a weekend off. she's from manchester, and i shall be leaving from wendover train station

From manchester she would get to euston and from wendover i would get to Marylebone but thats having 3 changes and one of which been the bus :\

how far apart are these?

edit: on week days i can get from wendover to london in 50minutes no changes, on weekend it goes up to 2hours with 3 changes :(

Euston -> Marylebone is pretty much walkable. Have a look on google maps - should give you a rough idea of distances.

My new favourite thing in the world - the geographic tube map can give you an idea too.

* I've just been after any excuse to post this.

how come this saturday to get from wendover to kings cross it takes 2trains and a bus, but on march the 31st(saturday) it takes like an hour and 1 train

hmm it seems easier to get a train from wendover to Aylesbury to london

It's about a mile. The 205 or 18 buses will take you more or less door-to-door.

Slightly OT - are there expected train delays tomorrow? got an interview, heard some delays today

If it snows - which is forecast, I'd expect delays as it will undoubtedly be the wrong sort of snow.

Engineering works are done at weekends.

Probably a bit late, but trains from Yorkshire and north east lines generally go to Kings Cross iirc, West Coast Main Line goes to Euston, e.g. from Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria. But I think there used to be a train from Manchester to Kings Cross, don't know if runs any more.

There were delays a total ****-ups around Stoke-On-Trent today because of a bust gas main. Meant i missed an interview myself, luckily it's managed to be rescheduled for next tuesday. Still wasted 3 hours getting a train to Stockport, and back again

I'd say Euston and Kings X were the main two, at least for the midlands/east anglia

I'd say Waterloo's pretty sizeeable, but I'd say the biggest 4 or 5 around the circle line were the main ones. It really doesn't matter, its not like where you've got Manchester Picadilly and 'the other one', they're all equally connected :)
