London tube attack.

This.

The new will have you think that things like this are happening daily in any city of the UK, because fear and sensationalism sells.

Simply stop reading/watching the news and look for the good things in life and, I know from my experience of doing it, your life will seem a lot more peaceful and calm.

I mean this won't stop you getting hacked up by a mad man with a machete, but at least you'll enjoy more days than not leading up to that :p

Pretty much this. I can remember an elderly woman getting her head hacked off in the middle of Tenerife. Just the wrong place at the wrong time.

Been on two tubes so far, still alive.

In Wetherspoons now, turns out central London Wetherspoons is a bit more expensive then middle of nowhere fenland Wetherspoons.

Still cheaper than other other pub around though.

I've put right for you :)

"Sadiq Khan: London mayor says being prepared for terror attacks 'part and parcel' of living in a major city"

At least he never got he head chopped off ;)
I was talking about what he actually said rather than a headline.

Sadiq Khan has said he believes the threat of terror attacks are “part and parcel of living in a big city” and encouraged Londoners to be vigilant to combat dangers.

I work at a tube station and have done for a number of years. This kind of stuff is very rare. More common is people jumping in front of trains, something I have had to personally deal with unfortunately.

Saying that, recently there have been more reports of people getting mugged while traveling, compared to previous years.

Living in London at the time of the 2005 attack, my sister just missing the incident and having other friends who were also either on the periphery or would have been caught up in it on any other day seeing the thread title pop up makes me feel uneasy for a moment.

Been on several tubes today, and even survived Wetherspoons. Given the OP I should buy a lottery ticket?

Jokes aside, I grew up in London but moved about 15 years ago.

Never really felt safer, the night buses used to be "interesting", they are much better these days.

Anyway thank you for what you do.

Wouldn't surprise me if the whole cost of living thing is ramping up crime in general.

I was watching a video the other day of a man stabbing repeatedly a woman in the street, she was on the floor trying to fend him off.

The world is definately becoming more violent.

I know my town used to hardly get any crime when I was growing up. Now its regular, as well as anti-social behaviour.

I blame the lack of a police presense. We used to have a police station in town. Now the nearest police station is nearly 15 minutes away.

When a bike was stolen from my yard the police weren't interested.
