Surrey isn't it? I used to goto school in selhurst but now i goto college in Mitcham. :)

Technically yes, but we are under the authority of the GLA rather than the County Council.

London can be awesome.

However London can suck big time at times.

I'm definitely a city person, but sometimes being London irritates me and frustrates me, however it does have its times when it does rock. I love London in the summer - hate it in the winter. I hate the prices and some of the people. But I love what it has to offer in terms of entertainment and distractions such as pubs, restaurants, theatres etc...

I think I wouldn't be happy away from London, but I'm not happy with it either :p

I went all over.

Camden, Croyden, Clapphum, Westminster, Vauxhall. Everywhere.

All i want to do is move in now :p
Croydon! You are 'avin a larf aren't you? The mother in law lives there and it is such a dump it is almost painful to visit. Your ancestors did us a favour by bombing the crap out of it, it is just such a shame that we built even bigger crap in its place.

If I never visit London it will be too soon.

Do you like the pound shops and the fact that it is turning into little pakistan?
I certainly don't

Despite living here, I'm not a huge fan. Quite hostile and there doesn't seem to be a set of common norms and values because there are so many foreigners here.
Shops are good, bars are good and I guess you've everything you could need here but I'd take my home over London any day :D

Infact, most places up north appeal to me more than this place. Meh.

I live in Greater London up near the top end of the Northern Line and never really go into the city which is a shame I guess.

I work locally and relax localy with all amenities really near by. Bit boring really where I live, its just another 'burb, nothing interesting or exciting. Could be anywhere really. I'd rather live somewhere sunnier.

London has its good points for sure, but I dont think I could live there, for 2 reasons. 1) It's not a car/driver friendly place, and 2) Everyone's always in such a god damn rush, to the point where they're aggressive and inconsiderate (the former applies more to the roads though). The latter is the case with many cities I admit, but I've never experienced it to such a level outside the capital.

I grew up in Cape Town, SOuth Africa (as seen here in this pic)

Absolutely beautiful city with amazing weather and beaches.

I've been in London for 4.5 years now, and I love it.

Living in the Docklands after working my way up through the not so nice areas like Bermondsey and Deptford and it rocks.

In terms of entertainment, everything is catered for!

Cultural stuff like museums and art galleries.
Amazing restuarants.
An incredibly varied club scene.
Excellent transport (£85 a month gets me anywhere zones 1-2, that's only a little less than my mate spends on just petrol in 2 weeks!).
I admit it is pricey, but once you get to a certain salary bracket, it becomes affordable (apart from housing *sob*)

So it's not just because I'm a Londoner that I love London so? It's not just because I'm a Londoner that I think of her wherever I go; that I get a funny feeling inside of me, just walking up and down? It's not just because I'm a Londoner, that I love London Town?

<tap dances>

London is amazin because there is so much to do. The public transport isntbad and i get buses free! :) Also the countryside is only 20 mins away in the car to Kent central London is 20 mins in the other direction on the train

I would add that I love Camden Town for living and going out in, it's totally unique in London and somehow has that small town feeling, virtually everyone I've met seems friendly and laidback, at the weekend sitting in the garden with the BBQ going whilst various groups of people turned up who I've met through the local pub and all relaxing and having a great time. I have friends who live down in Clapham or out in Fulham and whilst it's a bit leafier, it just doesn't feel right somehow!

Absolutely love working in the City now (Just next to Bank tube), it just has a buzz about it although the bars are expensive and a bit pretentious I find, especially compared to those in Camden, but for working it's fantastic..plus soooooooo many fitties :o :p

Brighton > London

imo :)

Brighton?

My wife used to go there for a month every summer with her family. Went out there with them for a week while we were still going out and I was bored out of my skull. Nasty rocky beach, rubbish weather and not exactly a fan of the main area taken over by the gay brigade.

rubbish weather, we still are in england you know.
where did you see this "gay brigade"? in all my years of living here its not like they mince up the streets groping every man.

To me the area was clearly gay branded, with prominently gay nightlife. It could have course have just been what the local hetrosexuals like to do for fun.

.. transport system sucks..

Dirty,
Unreliable,
Expensive (Tube is £3 for a single in Zone 1 - you're 'aving a larf!!)
Out of date..

You should try that new-fangled Oyster card contraption, it's only £1.50 then ;)

I think the transport is fantastic! Like someone mentioned earlier, I pay £85 a month for my zone 1-2 travelcard which is as much as some of my friends pay on 2 weeks petrol, yet I can get around on limitless buses and tubes as much as I like in zones 1 & 2 - that's a bargain really :)

Yep it's a bit dilapidated and busy but it beats being stuck in traffic, and bearing in mind some parts of the tube network are over a hundred years old IIRC its a pretty impressive feat, particularly given the sheer volume of commuters it carries :)

either youre homophobia made everything you saw in brighton as "gay" or you went to revenge :p

the major nightlife spots (on north and west street, and along the prominade) still have the usual meat market clientele
