Londoners, how long is your daily commute?

Zone 2 of North London into Central, just over 30 minutes using the Tube. Takes a little longer on the buses and cycling is more or less the same as tube time.

When I lived outside London, it typically took about an hour and 20 minutes. The difference was the single most biggest thing I noticed when I first actually moved into London itself.

Absolutely mental commutes in here.

20 - 30 minute walk is optimum!

When I first started working in London, I was doing 8am-8pm and the 1.5hr commute was driving me insane. I ended up moving 10 doors away from our office in Parson's Green - it has incredible!

Then I moved to a firm by Monument, so rented a flat in Old Street and then bought in Whitechapel, meaning that the walk was 20-25 mins tops. I didn't reckon on them moving the office though, so after they took up new office space in Vauxhall I quit!

I live in Essex zone 4 and door to door it's just under an hour. All my friends still live where I do and travel is "only" £172 a month, or £1800 for the year and that travel card will be used at the weekends too. I personally wouldn't travel more than an hour into work.

This. I generally work 8.30am-8.30pm in central London. Spending three hours a day on a train/tube completely kills any free time I would otherwise have had during the week. Whilst I'm fairly ambivalent to living in London itself, it's getting to the stage where I'm happy to take the extra expense just for convenience.

West Ham to London Bridge. 30mins door to door. And I only pay £360 a month :D

I hope that's rent and not commuter costs! :X

Just to make you Londoners jealous I live 5 minute walk away to my work (central Cambridge) , and can get to London Liverpool St in 45 mins (+5 Min walk to station)

Shame about the house prices :p

I've been 1.5hrs to and 2 hrs back lately, Sussex to Battersea, I've had enough so from October I no longer am employed.

I can't express how much I hate the journey, it's torture, anyone who says it's not is lying.
