Following on from the MOS thread.....and anyone with a good knowledge of London....

I'm thinking back to my clubbing days here (1989/1990)....

Is there a building approx 500m - 1km from the BT tower which is shaped like a hexagon or pentagon - very big inside....with excellent acoustics (and Adamski playing funnily enough)

All I can remember is coming out of the place, seeing the BT tower - and thinking..... this place looks pretty posh.

Where was it ? :p

There's a lot around the BT Tower that could qualify tbh. It's in Camden, so plenty of clubs have been and gone in those 20 years :)

Roundhouse is nearby. That's not very hexagonal, nor pentagonal though :p

Nah, just know a bit about the place :) According to wikipedia I'm wrong though. It closed in 1983 as Center 42, and reopened in 1996 as The Roundhouse.

:p Thought so. Misses is a Camden local she knows this stuff.

But to be able to see the BT tower as you walk out of the club really stumps me. We could be barking up the wrong tree with Camden. Unless OP has missed out several vital minutes.

All the clubs around that time in central London were cheesy. Anyone remember the Hippodrome ? God help me

Deffo wasn't roundhouse or camden palace.

Not anywhere as big as those venues..... it was approx 3-4 stories high - not very wide. Possibly wooden.

My memories are vague to say the least.

Don't forget this is 1989-1990. There's a parking area for about 30 cars... and the venue isn't necessarily a dance place. And I said you could see the BT tower once you came out into the parking area (over other buildings)

:p

Can't honestly remember. All I can remember is that it was an amazing night, great crowd and I'm sure it was Adamski, Pete Tong, Jumping Jack Frost and Danny Rampling playing.

I was with another DJ at the time (operating the lights and the smoke machine)

Sounds like a Black Market records scene do. I'm out this was a very long time ago dude :p

No. And it wasn't the Astoria.

I can vaguely remember walking to a phone box near the BT tower - looking up and thinking how cool it looked (there were phone boxes on almost every other street - but most only took pre-paid phonecards) - and wondering why there were 20-30 business cards for half-naked asian ladies stuck behind the phones....

Don't you be dissing the Hippodrome! I lost a number of nights in that place in my teens! :D

Prob the college or maybe the Mud club but doubtful unless you were on so many pills that it changed the shape of clubs to you.
