Long overdue first build

I finally went ahead and built my first rig! let me know what you think.

MB ASUS P8Z77 V
RAM Corsair Vengence 16GB 1600MHZ
SSD OCZ VERTEX 4 128GB
HDD WD 1TB Green
PSU Corsair GS800
CASE Corsair 300r

I starting to get concerned about my PSU, the fan is never on. Doesnt feel hot to the touch. Do i need to plug it into the MB?
