Chaps,
Can you recommend me something long range, going thru walls (floors), for indoor use. I've read quite a few reviews, but non of them was useful...well at least in my case
Really confused....
Cheers

edit: sorry, forgot to mention....talking about cable router

Have a look at the WRT range by Linksys. Put 3rd party firmware on such as DD-WRT and it will allow you to up rate the power of the wireless.

To be honest, there weren't many good words said about the linksys pre-n range, but I'd rather trust a "real life" opinion.....
Thanks for the reply

Linksys has caused me so many problems in the past, i would avoid them at all costs ;)

Saying that, im now looking for a router to replace my homehub, and my old Linksys hub was very good and with 3rd party firmware i was able to boost the signal to about 50 metres.

But i wouldn't buy Linksys cards, everyone one ive had has caused me hell and eventually broke.

Cisco Aironet 1200/1300 series access points are incredibly powerful, you can pick them up for about £100 second hand on a popular auction site, just plug it into whatever router you chose then.

Pricey, but you get what you pay for :)

If you're only looking to hook up a desktop in another room you might also want to consider the homeplug setup, just got two of the Solwise 200Mbit ones, getting about 45-55Mbit/sec throughput on them.
