just put together a new system (see below) and all works fine with xp installed on a seagate barracuda 160Gb sata hdd.
however, when i add in the two 80Gb IDE hard disks from my old computer as extra storage, it suddenly takes ages to start up - boots fine into windows but then takes ages for the system tray icons to appear and for the taskbar to become functional. there are no system files or anything on either disk, and both have been formatted since being in the old computer. any ideas?
