Gonna be getting into Longboarding and Mountainboarding whilst at uni. I skate at the moment, but don't really know about the equiptment for the longboards.

Is it best to buy the deck, trucks, wheels etc and make your own?

I've had a quick scan around and Lush longboards are reccomended for beginners? I can skate comfortably though, so should i look to be getting a higher end equipment?

Thanks for any info :)

I would get some hand pads, if your going to be doing any power slides.

To make a simple hand pad just cut an old reef flip flop in half and use that, very handy.

The manufacturer of truck escapes me but get some good one as these will stop speed wobbles at high speed. If you have never done it before maybe just get a cheap setup and once it's de-lamed to hell get a better one etc.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm joing the Plymouth boarding club, so they might have some more info etc. But i think they expect you to provide your own board! :D
